Spring Slap?

With the stock leaf springs, is it somewhat normal for these trucks to have what I call spring slap noises? Similar to my boat trailer noise, I notice this over speed bumps or road bumps where both rear wheels rebound from a bump. This is more on the downward motion of the rear axle that the initial impact upward. This occurs in normal driving at city speeds (20-30 mph) on surfaces that aren't that rough.

I have crawled underneath the truck and banged around on nearly everything I could think of, but I haven't identified anything loose, broken, etc.

All I know is after installing the Deaver pak, even after keeping the PRG 1.5" rear block, it rides WAY better in the rear. When I was stock, I experienced squeaks and impact noises over the smallest speed bumps. Of course the Bilsteins probably help back there more than the Deavers, but with both I've noticed a huge improvement in the rear.

Re: Spring Slap?

I saw a deaver mini pack available and was intrigued. I really don't have a need to lift my truck and wondering what other solutions I can implement to keep the truck sounding like it does. I have also noticed gaps between the spring leaves, thick enough to stick one or two nickles between, which makes me wonder if that is normal?
