This'll scare ya

Recently I took my Titan Crew Cab in to have the rotars replaced at Mid County Nissan in Port Neches Texas. My wife picked it up and decided to go to the local Grocery store instead of taking the 25 mile trip home as soon as she left. As she was driving about 30 mph she heard a noise and felt a wobble on the right front end. She decided to head back to the dealer and tell them. While making the U turn the right wheel came off and tore up my front fender, part of the door and all of the shielding around the tire. It sat down in the middle of the road. They did not put the lug nuts on tight. Well as you can guess I was pretty pissed. They did make it good and put ALL new parts on my vehicle, paid to have it re-detailed, a rental car and reimubursed me for my gas traveling to and from the dealer.
I guess the lesson in this is dont trust anyone with your vehicle. If my wife had went the other way she would have been doing 70 when the wheel came off and it could have been disastarous.

That's terrible, glad they made it right for you. So you ended up with a new door skin, fender and inner fender?

Same thing happened to my Jeep a few years back. They had to buy a new wheel, rotor , and tire! Bad thing was my wife was Very pregnant at the time.I gave them hell and a horrible guilt trip. Luckily it happened when I was driving it.

Same thing happened to another member over at CT. Only his wheel did not come off but when he inspected it there was only one lug left. That dealer did make it all right plus he got a set of steps out of the deal for free.
