Under-seat storage squeaking?

Anyone else with a CC have this? I've been having this mysterious squeak coming from the back seat area for about a week now. I thought it might be the seat-back latches, but that wasn't it. What I did find (by accident) was that with the left side seat bottom folded up, the squeak was gone. I went back to put something in the under seat storage and when I set it in there, I heard my squeak.

I'm glad I've found it. Now I've just gotta figure out a fix. Anyone else dealt with this? Aside from that sound, the truck is rock solid (only 1500 miles and 3 weeks old).

Re: Under-seat storage squeaking?

Yep, Had the same problem but mine eventually stop. It was making a chirping sound, not so much a squek.

Re: Under-seat storage squeaking?

Mine does the same thing. It's bugging the hell out of me. I've isolated where it's coming from, just not sure how to make it stop.

Re: Under-seat storage squeaking?

I had the squeek also. All I did to get rid of it was to tighten the bolts that hold the storage bin. Try it and see.

Re: Under-seat storage squeaking?

I've also got a squeaking noise, but mine is coming from the compartment where you would put the DVD player. It is driving me absolutely insane. I sprayed a lubricant on it and it didn't work. Any suggestions?

Re: Under-seat storage squeaking?

Mine has done that too.... I looked at the little metal strip that holds the storage unit on to the seat. If you bend that back a little it seems to have worked....

I think the metal is rubbing on the seat support.....

Hope that helps....

Thanks for the suggestions. I just posted a similar thread; didn't see this one. I'll go home and try some of them.

Re: Under-seat storage squeaking?

I also had the exact same thing - it was where the metal strips make contact with the metal of the truck. You can put a rubber washer or strip of foam in between the two and it will stop the squeeking.

Re: Under-seat storage squeaking?

I happen to fix that today! It too has been driving me nuts. The noise is for sure coming from rubbing the little metal strip that holds the storage unit on to the seat.

My solution was to add a piece rubber washer in between the metal strips and the metal from the seat. F**** chirping sound It's Gone!

Good luck to you all!

Re: Under-seat storage squeaking?

I get a chirping noise from mine mostly on very cold mornings. It sounds almost like two pieces of styrofoam rubbing together.

The guy I bought it from did not offer a warranty. I am glad there is a simple fix for this.
