A/C compressor wont shutoff

Anybody have this issue. When I turn on the defroster, the compressor engages and defogs the windshield. When I go to another mode (non defroster) and turn the fan off and back on, the compressor stays on. I am unable to turn the A/C off. Help!?!?

This is their way of telling you to use the "SEARCH" feature available to you. Yes, it has been discussed. Thank the nice mod for his helpful insight and the link I am sure he "forgot" to add. I am sure the "ballbusting" had nothing at all to do with this being your 3rd post. I will try to find a link and post it for you. See if you can beat me to it.

I so hate this A/C feature...
I clicked this 18k+ thread hoping a solution had been found, oh well...

When the rotating switch is fully counterclockwise, it switches on, always.
When the rotating switch is anywhere else, and you push the center of the knob, the orange light comes on/off as it switches on/off.
Fan speed can also trigger it if you left it switched on and you turn on the fan.
Defrost always triggers it on.

Somewhere in your selections and switch settings is a happy medium.

Want a compressor that truly runs all the time? Get a Ford product.
I can turn off my Titan, but somethimes I have to mess with knobs and switches.

Mess with it. You can't hurt it. And don't forget that the centers of the rotating knobs are switches. Push the centers.

He must not be an informed member because he would have known about this problem, so he's a rookie. I thought that someone was trying to beat the computer with a mod, let us know. I wish you could just pull a fricken fuse on the thing.
