Should this be warranty ?

I picked up my broken front diff. from the dealer today . They denied warranty coverage because my truck is lifted . They didn't even look at the diff to see what caused the failure . I have made no progress w/ Nissan concerning this matter and am NOT happy . I think I got $crewed .
What do you guys/gals think , should this have been covered ? What would you do ?

Re: Should this be warranty ?

It should be covered, I had a similar problem my front passenger axle broke. The part is over $700 and Nissan dealership would not cover it due to my lift. I think Nissan needs to recall 2004-2006 Titans and upgrade their flaws on the truck. Especially the rear axle problem.

Re: Should this be warranty ?

I remember some others got their rear diff. replaced and they had lifts and big tires.

Re: Should this be warranty ?

I would say try a different dealer..Is your truck driveable now? Did they already fix it, and are just trying to get you to pay for it now or what?

he may very well be screwed. I dont think the magnusson moss act applies where he lives. Canada right? You might want to check if there is some kind of law that protects consumers against dealers denying warranty coverage due to aftermarket equipment.

Re: Should this be warranty ?

I think there have been other several other front diffs that have failed. I will add to our log.

Let us know how it turns out. I suppose there aren't many dealers to chose from in Alberta.

Re: Should this be warranty ?

I have already paid and am fighting w/ Nissan . Dealer tells me it's up to Nissan Canada , warranty is denied because of lift . I call Nissan Canada to ask why they denied it and they tell me it's not their call to make ,and to go to another dealer to see if I get better results . WTF is going on , I'm getting run around by all of them . Time to get my lawyer involved , IMO .
