Angry Slack in Shifter

I took my titan to the dealership today to have the column shifter looked at because it has about 1" if play in it, up and down not front to back, in all gear positions. I was told that this is normal in all nissan products. Does any one else have this problem??? If you do have you had it corrected or do you just live with it. This is not the same problem they had the recall/tsb for.

Are you saying you are able to grab the shifter and pull it straight up in the air 1 inch? Is there another Nissan dealer near you?

Yes, In park, neutral, reverse, drive. I can move the shifter roof to floor 1".
