Recall on Wiring harness rear doors?

Guys,

I got a recall notice on the rear door harness, they say the wires will fray from opening and closing the doors and short out the seat belt mechanism and speakers in the door.

Anybody have any problems regarding this?

I've never had any problems with this, but I just got the recal done at the dealer, they put black plastic flex tubing over the wires to keep them from getting frayed.

Never had a problem with it, but I had the dealership fix it while getting a new tranny.

It's an easy repair, will take about an hour at the dealer. I've performed several and have yet to see a damaged harness. With no damage, the plastic cover is replaced with tape and split loom.

I had no problems, but they did the work when they replaced my brakes.

Re: Recall on Wiring harness rear doors?

I had mine in to get the recall done the other day and they broke the wire while inspecting it. Now the airbag light is flashing and the passanger airbag light is on regardless of whether there is anybody in the seat or not.

They told me it would be a week or so to get the part in. Does that mean that the airbags and/or seatbelt pretensioners arent't working in the mean time? Should I push them for a rental car till it gets fixed?

I would be so pissed if they did that to mine. Now they have to gut your whole interior to replace it. You're darn right they should give you a loaner because your airbags and tensioners are no longer active.

Got mine done. They provided a loaner for two days. Now when I turn left I get a clicking in my drivers door and my interior lights flicker on and off.
