Yesterday I got my 05 Titan with 20k back from firestone with a failed inspection.
The emissions test result read the "Catalyst, O2 Sens, and O2 Sens Htr" had a status report of "Not Ready".
Anyone have an idea of what this could mean?
The only mod I have on the truck is a Prestige Alarm with remote start that was installed this past January. Other then that it is all stock and I have not had any other problems.
I'm glad i don't have to go through that anymore. In FL they did away with emissions testing. On an old ford ranger i had I had lean it way out and unhook the vacuum advance to pass the test. It would make it run really hot so i had to do it around the corner from the testing place and re-adjust it after I left. There was no way I would pass without doing that. On new cars its all computer controlled so you can't change anything. I would think the dealer should be responsible for it.

Maybe the inspector didn't what they were doing? You have to warm up the vehicle before the initial inspection can be done. You can not just take a cold vehicle and just go through with an inspection service. If that's the case you need to go back and tell them that the vehicle needs to be warmed up to operating temperature before they run the inspection.
Hope that helps and goodluck! There is no way a newly stock vehicle can fail if you have no engine check light.

Thanks in advance.
This sounds exactly what TitanR said. The vehicle was not warmed up. Romp the piss out of it before taking it in to make sure it's warmed up. Hopefully it won't sit for very long before they look at it.
it is one of 2 things, either the ecu was reset recently and hasnt gone through a complete drive cycle or the 02 sensors were not hot enough, if you make suer they are hot enough (drive at least 10 miles to be sure) and it still fails for the same thing... then a drive cycle hasnt been complete

Thanks, so how long does it take for a "drive cycle" to complete. The last time the battery was disconnected was in January to install an alarm.
Is this process specific to Titans and maybe Firestone did not warm up the 02 sensors?
a drive cycle is the time it takes the ecu to complete all of its functional checks... some checks have to be performed at certain steady speeds, some after a certain speed range has been sustained for a certain period of time, it usually is vehicle specific but most vehicles drive cycles are similar, if you do city and hwy driving often i think it would be safe to say you have completed a drive cycle... maybe talk to the tech about the "not ready" part and what he thinks it means...
do some steady driving between at 30, 40 , and 50 and some light accelerating from one to another, hold each speed for at least 30 seconds, do all this after the vehicle is fully warm, try to find an empty highway to do this, and pay attention to traffic first... if it still fails then i would say something is causing a reset, im not sure how the remote start hooks up and if it could be causing a reset somehow....
Take it to Nissan aqnd show them your rejection sheet. Make them fix it. I took mine in cold driving less than a mile with no problems. You should not have that problem.
