Front Differential and 4x4 issue. need answers

(Sorry, I posted this in the wrong spot earlier)
I went in to get my oil changed today and they tell me that my Front Differential is leaking. The truck goes into Nissan tomorrow morning to have them look at the Four Wheel drive. The only way to get 4x4 to disengadge is to put it in reverse and back up 10-15 feet. Do these 2 things have anything to do with each other? This isnt the making of a rear end failer is it? I dont know too much about trucks rear ends or 4x4's. lol I just let other ppl fix the problem. Im just looking to see what i should be looking forward too. lol Thanks for any help or answers

As far as I know:
No. I think you have to back up or have some difference in front wheel speeds to disengage the 4wd.

No.

You probably just need a new gasket/silicone, or a new seal.
