Low Oil Pressure

Hey Guys.-

I have a Titan 4x4 and it presents me this problem .
In the mornings the gauge of the oil you is in the center, that which seems normal, but when i driving in the freeway and arrive to my work and to stop, I see that the gauge of the oil goes 1/4 low for some minutes
I think that I should have a problem with the pressure of the pump oil, it will be that correct, since i see in other Titan and Armada the pressure is always of the half or to high but dosen´t Low

Thankyou

Re: Low Oil Pressure

I have the same problem.
good pressure when started, but after driving a while, when i stop it drop to th 1/4 mark. Holds good when any acceleration occurs. Just at idle that it fluctuates.

Think i am going to try a new oil pressure sending unit.

Re: Low Oil Pressure

I don't know about Nissans, but my last vehicle was a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and every once in a while it would lose it's oil pressure. The warning light would even come on, and I'd have to throw it in neutral and idle high to maintain pressure. The first time it did this I went to a Jeep message board where I learned that my oil pressure wasn't bad at all. I just needed to reset my ecu. I found that hard to believe, but it worked. I disconnected my battery and pumped the brakes per the recommended procedure, and when I started it up again my oil pressure readings were normal and the idiot light went out.
Then I surmised that Jeep probably preprogrammed my ecu to do exactly that so I'd have to take it into a dealer where they'd tell me I need a new oil pump and charge me for it, but really just reset my ecu. Wouldn't surprise me these days.

My pressure remains constant at just above middle at idle. I would have it checked out, couldn't hurt. I have not heard anything prior on low oil pressure for our trucks. Out of curiosity what weight oil are you using?
