Parking Brake

Hi, I took my 04 Titan to the dealership today and reported that my parking brakes would not hold my vehicle. I picked them up today and when I got home and parked on an incline the vehicle rolled back as soon as I took my foot off the standard brake. I put the vehicle in neutral to figure out how far I needed to have my pedal set for the brake to hold the truck. I didn't feel the brakes safely held the truck until I had the parking brake all the way down. I have never had a vehicle with a parking brake that you have to press to release, are these different? I called my dealership and told them about my concerns and the service manager told me that the brakes may possibly adjust themselves in a few days.

How far should I have to press my parking brake for it to safely hold my truck?
