Trailer Lights not working

Have checked all fuses... tail lights and brake lights work fine. Testing out of the trailer light connection can not get a test light to light up.

Anyone have any ideas?

Did you install the relays that go under the hood Check this link someone posted a picture of where the relays go.

Do I have the relays?

Re: Trailer Lights not working

Is the trailer gorunded to your ball. I had to hook the trailer up to my ball to make the lights work.

Me neither. There's a ground in whatever trailer connector you're using.

I have checked all of the fuses and relays under the hood in the box next to the firewall.

Nissan Mike, Can you be a little more specific I have crawled up under the dash but don't see any fuses near the steering column.

As far as being grounded, I am checking it at the truck connection that should be grounded.

Re: Trailer Lights not working

Under the dash to the right of the steering wheel collum there are two ten amp fuses spliced inline (mine where taped together) they work the rear trailer turn signal and brake light. They are small so they could be hard to spot.

Re: Trailer Lights not working

Are you sure you checked the little 10 amp fuse under hood in the box nearest the firewall. I looked half the night before I found it and replaced. Bingo, trailer lights.

I will have to try this when I get home from work. I already have one light that works when it want but I think it is my adapter. My truck did not have the tow package so I bought a Uhaul adapter and it is starting to give me trouble.

Re: Trailer Lights not working

I fixed it....

I traded it off. If you have to go to 3 or 4 different places ot check fuses than I need to go back domestic.

Re: Trailer Lights not working

Heck of a reason to trade but goodluck to you. What did the dealership say when you told them you were trading because of the fuse box?

That wasn't the only reason. Had most of the problems that everyone else had and all of the recalls, etc. I really like the Titan as far as power and especially the interior design with all of the storage. Had close to 100K on it and was really just time for a new truck, but the rattles really were getting bad. I went to all dealers and Nissan would not deal on the '08's. I tried but they didn't want to play.......
