Fan on but no air to vents...anyone else?

I hopped in my truck after a very hot day here in PA and could not get air to the vents. The A/C light came on and the fan motor was blowing but not to the vents. I checked the vent controls and they worked, you can see the thing move and turn in the left side of the heater controls under the dash.
I then remembered the steps shown on this site to replace the cabin filter and gave it a look. I pulled off the cover and felt air moving but it sounded restricted. I reached my hand in and felt a sticky foam pad. I pulled it out and it was a 6" x 6" foam pad with adhesive on one side. I have no idea where it came from but when removed the air blows fine. It appears to have come unglued and fell blocking the air flow. It looks like the hot day melted the adhesive.
What is this thing? Should I have a dealer reintstall it?

Maybe it fell off the fresh air intake door.

It's probably the insulation for one of the mode door flaps that open and close to divert airflow to floor,defroster or dash vents.Try using all functions and see how much air loss you have going to unintended vents and also around the blower case on the floor.If not bad don't worry about it.If under warranty let the dealer handle it for you!
