2'nd rearend blown

Thats right my trucks in the dealership again with a blown rear end. My truck is an 05, LE 4x4 BTW 46,000 miles.I took in today for the 45,000 mile check up, and the the drivers side axle was leaking as well. Dealer tech said my diff was leaking as well and it fried my gears. My new diff is on order and this will be the second time my rear end is being replaced on their dime of course.

I am sure glad I bought the extended warrenty on this truck or I would've sold it by now. Dealer gave me a new altima to play around in while my truck is in the shop getting repaired. I guess i can't complain it could be alot worse.
At least my cam and tranny work good so far.

Re: 2'nd rearend blown

sorry to hear that I have had one axle replaced also

After you have driven the truck for a week take a wrench and loosen the axle vent and listen If you hear pressure being released you know the cause of your leaks.

I did this a week after I gor my new differential and it took 2-3 seconds to release all the pressure that had built up in the axle.

Im planning to do the axle vent mod soon....before I need another new diff!!

Also, get an alignment. When new, my rearend was way out of spec and the pumpkin was getting very hot. After the alignment, all is fairly cool.

If an alignment is needed after that the dealer should have done it. I'd make them pay for it.
