Here is the latest.. The nissan tech and i went for a test drive in my truck as well as a couple other Titan's from the Dealers lot, and since my truck wobbled and so did the other trucks on the lot, some were worse and some better, Nissan has determined that this is a characteristic of the vehicle and can't be fixed. Nissan also claims that they have never heard of any other truck by mine that has this problem.

I would encourage all of you to call 1-800-Nissan1 and complain, since they think this is not a problem at all and that the trucks are supposed have a wobbly ride.. don't take it for granted that the dealer is calling Nissan for you.

i am afraid that i have purchased my last nissan..

Hello,
I have been going through the same thing for the past 4 months. Many road force tests and many tires swapped off stock trucks on the lot. Now the service manager states there is nothing else they can do. I am calling Nissan tomorrow. I have been posting on nissans official site about all this.
Can you tell me what the outcome of your experience is or what steps you have done?? Please??

Thanks...my email is americanskiff2003@yahoo.com or post here.

Re: 08 with death wobble & vib

I am sorry to hear that you are having the same problem and about to waste the next few months of your life fighting Nissan.

Here is the short story... I have retained a Lawyer and he is currently fighting the case. No resolution as of yet and this is 5 months later..

Here is the long version...

The 800-Nissan1 number is all but useless.. they will never call you back , there is an option to talk to a real person, however the person that you talk to just answers the phone and has no ability to do anything, they just take messages for the people assigned to your case. I called every day for two weeks before i was able to get anyone to call me back. When they did call me back all they said was they were going to open a case and someone would contact me in the next 4 to 6 weeks... like I said useless..

The 'tech' that they send out from Nissan is also a compete waste of time.. that took more then two weeks just to get scheduled. I went to the dealership to meet the tech, went for a test drive and they told me that the truck was supposed to 'wobble' and shake like that.. i always took a water bottle so you could see the bottle shaking and could not deny the problem..

finally i just got so feed up with dealing with Nissan and the dealership, that i just retained a lawyer...

one post from another person who was having this problem mentioned measuring the tire spacing... like from the center of each of the rear wheels to the frame, and checking to see if they are the same... mine are not it is off by about .5 inches... also if you measure from the center of the rear wheel to the center of the front wheel on each side the measurements should be the same... and mine are not

independent body shops are good for checking out those types of things...

Good Luck...

Re: 08 with death wobble & vib

Yep...They have improved mine alot. Still has a slight vibratoin bettwen 65-75mph. I rarely go that speed since most of my driving is in city. I am very worried about when it comes time for a new set of tires in a couple of years. The Nissan tech and the service manager both say my truck is good. They also said they test drove stock vehicles that where worse then mine and thats just how they ride. He also siad all vehicles had some sort of vibration at different speeds. Funny, I told him the frontier they rented to me several times had no vibrations so there must be something wrong with it since it drove so smooth.
I work in a body shop as a parts manager and used to be a auto painter and have been around cars all my life. Vehicles are not suppose to ride like this. Feels like a tire out of balance or bent rim or something like that...but all rims and tires are good.
I think I am just going to keep it and drive it for a year or two and trade it in. They won this battle, but since people keep asking me how I like this truck and I keep telling them the truth that there are vibration issues that nissan wont admit or fix plus the heater problems and brake rotor problems, I know about 6 people that went with Chevy and Toyota instead of Nissan like they where going to. They one the battle on my truck, but I have allready cost Nissan the sale of 6 vehicles....
When you produce a poor product, it will catch up to you sooner or later. If I had read all these posts about this vibration thing before I got this truck I would have gone with a Tundra.
My family has been a nissan family for awhile. I have allways liked there vehicles. Not anymore. I will never own another Nissan.

Re: 08 with death wobble & vib

All I know is my 05 KC is smooth from 0-95 with zero vibration at any constant speed or RPM. I just knocked on wood so no jinx sets in.

Re: 08 with death wobble & vib

your one of the lucky ones. Seems like according to the posts on the net, all models of the titans, even some 4x4, have this vibration. There are different fixes for them all. Not one thing is the culprit. I wish I would have gotten one without the vibration. There seems to be enough of them for Nissan to call it a problem.

Re: 08 with death wobble & vib

So this is predominantly a problem with 2WD trucks?

No, it's not just two wheel drive, many of these complaints, including mine are 4wd. Mine shakes so bad sometimes that I have to pull over to get it to stop.

i would've though they support to fixed it after so so many complaints about this wobble thing, but my 2009 still wobble, very disapointed about nissan, my uncle got a 08 tundra, and his is smooth like hell.

Re: 08 with death wobble & vib

Just picked up a 2009 CC SE, and within 25 miles noticed the problem with rear end vibration at 65mph. Service manager drove with me and said the tires needed to be balanced. Didn't help much, going back in 2 days to have reinspected. Not a huge vibration but noticeable enough to watch passenger seat vibrate and rear passengers can feel the vibration too on the freeway. The 09 is a nicer truck than the 06 I had but the vibration is not confidence inspiring on the freeway.

yeah, it's still happening, i took it in, rotate and balance twice, do the road force thing. And it's help a little bit but not cure the problem yet, nissan said they can't do anything else until 1500 miles, so i called nissan consumer affair, then nothing really help. I'll wait until after 1500 miles then i'll give them one last chance to fix it, if not i will have to use my lemon law. I got all the papers, invoice....that i had been there more than 3 times about this problem.
