I still have the shakes in my truck even though its better. The southeast district customer service lady has been calling me. They keep calling my home phone even though I told them to call my cell since i am not at home 8-5 monday through friday. They cant get it through there head to call my cell.
I was thinking about the lemon law thing. Seem to be a big pain in the you know what. Mine mainly shakes above 65mph now and I usually dont get to go that fast in the city. If nissan doesnt do anything then I will get rid of this truck in a year or two and go to Toyota. Lot of my freinds and family have given up on Nissan now with seeing the troubles I am having. I know 6 people that bought toyota and chevy instead of Nissan...I hope nissan likes loosing sales cause I am going to cost them alot
PLEASE!! Everyone with this vibration shaking problem, go to this site and fill out a complaint form. Maybe if enough people do this Nissan will admit/post a recall or other action to finally get these thousands of Titans fixed the way they should be.

here it is again.....I want everyone to log in and fill out a complaint. It takes less then ten minutes. You will need your vin # which is on your insurance card or write it down from your dash on your truck....
Please.....complain.. I hate to see a company like Nissan screw there customers for over 3 years on a problem they know is out there and they will not do anything about.
I would like to know what area of the country ya'll are from. Im in jacksonville florida. The dealer I have been dealing with is Mike Shad Nissan of Jax on Cassat Ave. Service Managers name is Boyd.
The lady from Southeast Customer service is Sharon. I forget the phone #, its probably the 18-- Nissan1 things. Her ext is 1500 or 1560. When or if she ever decides to call my cell phone I will let you know for sure the # and extension.
Maybe if we share info we can get these service managers to start listning or something.
I was told they don't want to try anything else until the truck gets to 1500 miles since that's when they consider is a normail problem and not from components mating to one another. I won't want 1500 miles, they will be driving it asap. I drive on the freeway and it feels very loose and the steering wheel is sloppy too.
Took my 09 to Big O tires, they felt the vibration above 45 mph. So they put on the rack, lifted off the floor and spun the wheels at various speeds. The rear tires were out of round, you could see the excessive run out which is why the truck has a "loose" rear end feel to it. They checked all four Goodyears and they all were out of round. So tomorrow it's back to the dealer where I'll ask them to put on a rack and view the out of round tires and replace. I think that will fix it. I'll also spin the rims with a dial indicator to make sure they are true.
OK, trip to the dealership. They spun the rear wheels while the truck was on a rack and saw that the tires were out of round. The tech who balanced them three days ago said he noticed they all had flatspots. The dealer offered to exchange the rims and tires, which sounded good but when we viewed the other 09 Titan's tires, same radial runout which can be seen with the naked eye.
So I opt to call Goodyear direct. Opened a case file with them. They reffered me to a local store and said if the tires were out of round, they'd warranty them. The dealership did offer to order new tires, and found they had them in stock but I wanted to make sure that the tires I had were 100% the source of my vibration problem. No point in making them install more tires with no positive result.
So off I head to America's Tire. They pulled each tire and rim to spin test them for 1) balance and 2) roundness of the tire.
All four were a little out of balance, from 1/2 to 1 1/2 oz, which can be felt at high speeds. But then the "road force" balance machine was used to test roundness. All four were of round at 300 miles of use on my 09.
The two rears were at 0.026", the fronts at 0.036" and 0.044" runout. Anything about 0.026" can be felt on sensitive suspension and result in atypical handling.
Now the force balance machine can tell you if the high spot on the tire can be matched to the low spot on the rim, and if the resulting combination will be within acceptable specs. But in my case, the two most offensive tires were so far out, that the machine calculated that it wouldn't have made a difference.
Goodyear was called with the results, they replaced the two fronts for free.
Now, here's the good part. The new Goodyear tires, identical to the OEM tires came in substantially better in runout. From 0.044 down to 0.011 and 0.036 down to 0.009, much better just from coming off the rack.
So I called Goodyear again, told them that I wasn't happy that new 300 mile tires were borderline for replacement. They asked for a tech to drive to find out if there was a problem with vibration, they said "slightly" and Goodyear stepped up and replaced the remaining two tires.
The rear tires, each with 0.026 runout, were replaced with new rubber with 0.003 and 0.007.
Drove the truck, no more vibration. Took a bit of legwork and cooperation from America's Tire who were kind enough to let me see the measuring being done, now all seems to be much better.
Hope this info helps others with new tire excessive runout situations.
Initial measurements were: 0.044, 0.036, 0.026 and 0.026" (new 09 Titan OEM tires, 300 miles)
Final measurements are: 0.011, 0.009, 0.007 and 0.003" (New Goodyear S/A tires from tire store)
Just read through all this and it doesn't make me happy.
I bought my truck right off the line. Had just a few miles on it, never test driven.
Had the 'tire out of balance shake', dealer balanced them for free. I was left with a little shake, not bad. Didnt bother me. Chalkedit up to crappy Good Year tires. Now 8000 miles later I pay Firestone to rotate and balance all 4.
Tech calls me out to show me how dealer had 'counter balanced all the wheels'. He was amazed they had done this. He pulled the clip on weights, left the stick on ones and balanced the wheels. Pronounced them good.
Drove home, same wobble, now much worse! My wife commented on it immediately saying it felt like crap.
As with everyone else it doesnt do it all the time and the speed required to get the shake seems to vary.
I'm going back on Friday to have them recheck the balance, this time I'll watch, and let them do a write up. Then I'll head to the dealer.
Apparently it was remedial tire balancer day on Wed.
Went back today, they found one wheel 2 ounces out, the others over 1/2 ounce. A master tech balanced all 4 then went for a drive with me, MUCH better. I still have a slight shake/shimmy that must be a out of round tire issue.
That's the problem with mechanics - 90% of them do this job because they're not smart enough to do anything else.
The real good ones, the ones that take pride in their work and always look to improve, are so far and few between.
True that not a lot of them take pride in their workmanship but it goes beyond that. Like many industries now, mechanics are being paid on a per job basis rather than by the hour which in essence is preventing them from doing what needs to be done in many cases if they want to bring home a good paycheck for their hard work.
If a mechanic gets paid .25 hours to balance four tires do we really believe they will spend .5 hours to do it right when they have bills to pay? Blame the shops as much as the mechanics because instead of firing the inept mechanics and paying the good ones by the hour, they chose to keep them all including the inept ones and control the bottom line with a per job pay rate.
