I don't think it's limited to the Ranchos. Others have had the same problem on models w/o the Ranchos.

I'll second that .

I was actually thinking the same thing when I replaced my exhaust recently & noticed how puny the shocks were for a 1/2 ton truck.

Re: 08 with death wobble & vib

Do a search here...or someone will chime in. I think Bilstein makes one that works well on the Titan. But I'd just do the rears for now to see if that changes anything, then do the fronts.

Yep & Bilstein's are exc shocks & struts! German engineered & I've had them on a few of my vehicles.

I also checked Koni & QA1's websites but didn't see anything listed. Other than those 3 I don't know who else would have anything, at least that I would trust.

Re: 08 with death wobble & vib

I have an 06 and just recently it has been shaking. Of course it doesn't start till I am doing 80mph... SO how do I justify that complaint to the dealership that the truck shakes at 80.. I am hoping it is just in need of a wheel balancing because they give mw crap every time I want them to check the alignment. They want $$ and say they can't check the alignment, but they can re-do the alignment . Sigh. Hope things work out and they figure out what your deal is.

Wow that had to hurt. Shocks have not been tried as of yet because at this point Nissan will not pay for a part number that does not technically belong on the vehicle. Using shocks that are designed for a standard truck defeat the purpose of having an off road suspension. They will come up with an updated shock should that be the final determing factor of the problem. It may go deeper than that and be a whole combination of springs, shocks and what not that is the final cure. Time will tell.

I'm still not totally convinced but...hey, it's worth a try if nothing else has helped. I still want them to swap out the drive shaft on his truck but.....when I say change out the shocks, I mean to do so just to see if that clears up the vibration...not to keep it like that. We're just trying to find the culprit here, then it can be taken proper care of.

We're thinking that the problem he's talking about is an 08 model thing, better yet, a PRO-4X issue. Anything we've seen so far prior to the 08s was a balancing issue. I think I had my 04 up to 80 MPH...maybe twice in the 3 years I had it...lol..so I'd never know about an 80 MPH vibration.

Re: 08 with death wobble & vib

but the thing is my truck has two issues the 1st one is the side to side vib that is shaking the hell out of the passenger seat that i can notice now from 45mph to 76mph and the SECOND one is the wobble coming from the FRONT END i can go over man hole covers @ 45mph and the whole front suspention just feels like its loose I.E. @ 70mph on the cali concrete/ cut joint freeways i got the DEATH WOBBLE... I really think the wobble is coming from the shocks not keeping the wheels planted on the road....

Ya know?...I always had a clunk going over bumps and stuff in the front left of my 04. No wobble though. They could never find anything. I had the OR package on that truck too.
