Yea thats what I thought. It's just messed up that I called all of the dealers in the area and didn't come close to $1500 (didn't try talking them down though). I think I'll just buy one from a salvage yard for $500 and do it myself. The 2007 and up model years should have the new diff right? And is the part number stamped on the diff anywhere?

Re: Front Axle Failer Thread

What do you guys reccomend for someone that is not in powertrain warranty anymore whos driver side front axlle came out because of c-clip failure. It will not go back in. drop the whole assembly and get it rebuilt.... or does anyoene know where you can get a new front diff assembly? or is it worth trying to rebuild myself?

Re: Front Axle Failer Thread

Was reading through the multitudes of post here and I have a question concerning the cost of rebuilding the front diff and what does it entail? I have an 06 Armada LE 4X4 and according to what I have read the front diff may need rebuilding. It is making a mild humming noise while driving. Next question what are the symptoms of rearend issues on a two wheel drive Titan? I also have an 04 Titan LE Kingcab with the big tow package and would like to know the symptoms in the event something weird starts occurring. Thanks in advance for all of the infinite wisdom to be shared and have a great day.

~45K miles, second time. Driver side. Where axle shaft connects to the wheel or spindle.

Re: Front Axle Failer Thread

Well I wish i would have read this thread sooner... I was pulling a stump... in reverse.. out of the yard... just like it says in the first couple threads... Truck has about 50000mi, Fabtech lift, 35in tires. Dealership replaced whole front axle for $738.39. They said that was the part not covered under warranty? IDK. See what other guys are paying im not complaining too much. Thats been my only problem with the truck... oh and the side door molding fell off in the car wash ; /
