Coolant smell after driving

I have an 07 titan and since it has been new it smells like coolant after driving it for awhile, when you get out after awhile you can smell coolant.. I have had it at the dealer 4 times and they are baffled.. it does not run hot and there are no leaks even when pressure tested.. with the heater on sometimes it fills the compartment up with the sweet smell of coolant.. it is intermitten but about 90% of the time it does it.. any suggestions or has anyone experienced this?? the dealer does not know what to do with it either.. but it is anoying when you walk across a parking lot and can smell your truck from 25 feet away... but at least I can find it if I follow the smell... any help would be appreciated... thanks

Some of the early models had a radiator cap problem and a hose clamp problem.

I guess the obvious is to look over coolant areas and look for the telltale.

Re: Coolant smell after driving

Mine does as well, its an 08. I get a coolant build up under the thermostat housing, so I am guessing its coming from there. I just have to put things back to stock before I take it in. I dont want them to give me any crap.

Re: Coolant smell after driving

My 06 does it also. I've looked under the hood when I smell it and mine seems to be coming from the over flow bottle. The cap is a vent to the bottle.

Re: Coolant smell after driving

I have an 07 CC and I believe my radiator cracked. Well at first I had the coolant smell from the cap weeks after I purchased it but today my wife smelled that smell and I believe it's my radiator. I loosen the cap and coolant was coming from the bottom of my truck. I am a little mad because I have to take it 60 miles to the dealer. But on a good note they do have three in stock. I will let you all know what happen on Monday because my appointment is on Monday at 7AM.

Had the same problem with mine. Dealer said it was a bad trans cooling line. I could see some coolent on the top of the front skid plate.

Re: Coolant smell after driving

Had the same problem with my 05'.The radiator was weeping anti-freeze and the foam around the radiator was moist with anti-freeze.They replaced the radiator.A pressure test didn't detect the problem because it would weep only when it was hot. Good luck. Hope you have a decent dealer. Check the seams carefully.

Re: Coolant smell after driving

Well I went to the dealer for them to check out my radiator. They replaced it because my truck only has 14,632 miles on it. I don't know what I did or what but I had a leak in it. But my dealer experience was great.

Re: Coolant smell after driving

Radiator on my 04 started leaking from the bottom tank where it meets the aluminum. I only have 59,500 miles. No dealer warranty and Nissan quoted an insane price on the radiator. Went online and bought a Koyo radiator out of Cali for $170.00. Nissans was $535.00 and made by Visteon. Doing all the work myself.
