Radiator Cap Problems

This is to see just how many people have had problems or multiple problems with the Radiator Cap. I'm trying to get this reported to Nissan if there's enough to warrant a report.

Here's a pic of what the problem might look like:

Re: Radiator Cap Problems

Sorry Pops... No problem with mine. However, I have read multiple threads on here about it. It is also the cause of some codes that members couldn't identify. I don't know that it's a rampant problem, but there are some who have experienced it.

Re: Radiator Cap Problems

There is already a TSB for the cap leaking. You need a new cap.

Re: Radiator Cap Problems

Already got one for free from the dealer. I'm trying to get it reported because the replacement caps aren't any better.

Re: Radiator Cap Problems

Mine was bad until they put a new cap on there. I haven't had a problem since. Maybe you just have bad luck?

Oh, I'm sure you're right about that. It just seems like the Metal and Gasket are thinner and more flimsy than any that I've had before.

$20.00 ???? Unless it's a NISMO, the cap only costs $3.00.

Re: Radiator Cap Problems

take the radiator cap off turn upside down bend the two tabs that lock the cap to radiator make the cap fit radiator as tight as possible.or hold cap in hand bend tab's with channel lock pliers. i did this to my cap fixed radiator never leaked again.the dealer ship not smart enough to do this.hope this helps.

Now that is a great suggestion. If the seal is good, just a little adjustment will do the trick. Good to know!

Thanks
