Vibration at stop lights??

I have been noticing a vibration in my truck whenever I'm stopped but in drive. I thought it may be my exaust but I tightened all the bolts and it still making the noise. Again it only happens when I'm at lights or stopped but not it park. Any ideas?

Re: Vibration at stop lights??

Could be a lot of things, rough idle? What RPM's do you idle at?

Clean your MAF and check all throttlebody/air box connections. Air filter new or clean?

At least there's some place to start, short of taking it to the service tech.

Re: Vibration at stop lights??

I just changed the oil and cleaned the k&n cold air intake. My wife drives it during the week, so I won't know until this weekend if it helped any. I'll have to get back to you on the rpm at idle.

Re: Vibration at stop lights??

Is it a vibrating noise, like a rattle?

If so where is the area it's coming from? Inside or outside? A little more information and others could help if they knew better what your problem is.

Re: Vibration at stop lights??

i get the same thing...today it was really bad I'll be investigating this week as I'm in the middle of a 1200 mile drive. very scary. If I put it in neutral or park it stops, drop it in drive andhold the brake I get the noise. WTF

Re: Vibration at stop lights??

Check to see if anything on the K&N cold air intake may have loosen up. I heard a rattle over bumps and found the filter was loose.

Re: Vibration at stop lights??

I just came back from the dealership with the exact same problem. At idle in neutral or park the truck wouldn't make any vibration under the hood...Just shifted to Drive or mostly reverse, and that vibration would come up...I would even feel it on the dashboard and mostly with the windows up. Well......to my surprise, it was the bulb box of my subwoofer that was loose and making contact with the left pannel, they just attached it to a cable with a plastic staple, and no more noise!. So yeah, check for any loose pieces, I checked EVERYTHING to see where the vibration was coming from, and never imagined something so small would actually make a lot of vibration. titans' cabins are very quiet, and any little noise under the hood will magnify with windows closed.

Anyway!, hope this helps..and I'm sure it will be something like mine had.

Re: Vibration at stop lights??

There are a couple of things you could do manually. Somewhere here in the forum, there is a thread about air fuel vol learn and throttle position learn. The ECU will compensate for anything out of spec. Just do a search, and you should find it in here. I would try that before cleaning anything. If your idle RPM is out of whack, the air fuel vol learn should correct it.
