Dealer says: Cut rotors and new rear pads?!? P0174?

My local dealer is checking out the issue with the SES light. They have had the Titan for 2 days now. They have talked with NISSAN tech. Code thrown was P0174 (Engine too lean). I told them to check the MAF and O2 sensor. Both are now replaced, but code is still on. Truck has only 34K miles.

Other issue: Mushy brakes. The brake judder service has already been performed. The dealer is now saying the "hydraulics are fine", but all the rotors are rusty and need resurfacing and also new rear pads. I think this makes no sense whatsoever. Any ideas?

Yeah that doesn't make sense. pads can usually go atleast 45-50k before being replaced.since your truck has only 34k and I'm assuming they changed the pads along with the rotors for the judder problem, at least thats what they did with mine, they must have gone wrong somewhere else. Sorry i got no answer for ya

It is very unusual for the rear pads to go so soon... That is why I don't buy their theory. If anything, it would be the front pads as the front brakes do about 80% of your stopping. the rears do about 20% of the work and that is really just to keep the vehicle in a straight line motion when stopping by creating enough rear drag to keep the rear from wanting to twist on you while stopping...I would get a second opinion.

since they replaced the MAF and O2 sensors, run it for a day then take it back for them to do a diagnostic again... the ECU may have to "learn" again...

My question is, did they reset the ECU in the first place, after the MAF and O2 replacement??
