Steering Wheel Wear Issues

Hey guys, I have read on here that some of you have got your steering wheel replaced because of wear issues. My dealership was not willing to replace mine because they said it was not a warrant-able defect. I understand some of this is normal wear but the truck is not even a year old and the wheel is starting to look like Sh*t (30,000 miles). Anyone think calling Nissan directly would do anything or am I out of luck here?

Thanks for any advice......

Re: Steering Wheel Wear Issues

The steering wheel is warrantied for the 3 year/36k mile warranty. I know this for a fact, if you dearler is telling you otherwise find another dealer, or call nissan.

Mine is an 04 with 42k and it has no signs of wear. If your in the warranty period tell them you want to see the nissan rep when he comes in or file a complaint with consumer affairs.

Carefully take a razor and cut and undo a few stitches on the steering wheel. They'll replace it!
