08 with a whining noise
Alright guys, I have an 08 king cab 4x2 and I'm getting ready to take it in for it's first service. Recently I have been noticing a whing noise ethier coming from the real axle or the driveline. Does anyone have a idea of what this might be. The rig has about 4,200 miles on the clock.

Does the whinning stop when you let off the gas? Most whinning problems has been the ring and pinion. The whine is usually not continuos but occurs at certain speeds. Try letting off the gas and see if it stops. If it does, probably differential. I have a 04 with whinning differentials, 4 total and never really ever got one that stopped completely. I have 75k on mine and it still whines. If the whinning does not stop when you let off the gas, could be your tires.
