My SLIP light just came on today

My slip light just came on when I was heading to the grocery store and stayed on til I got there, came back on when I cranked it up to head home and stayed on the whole way (10 miles). I got home (and from looking at a couple of other threads, I checked the brake fluid, which was half-full or a little more). I am looking for some help as I currently have my truck for sale and can't afford to have any major problems with it now.

Go ahead and top the brake fluid off a little bit to see if the light goes away.
Another reason the SLIP light might come on is your ABS sensor wire might have come in contact your exhaust and is burnt through.

Hmm I'll have to check those things on mine too because mine did the same thing the other day. My slip light and brake light also comes on when I floor it sometimes. Wonder what that's all about

You didn't happen to clean and pressure wash the rear diff did you?
I've done this and tripped a sensor for a couple of days until the connector dries really well.

Where is the ABS sensor so I can check it in the morning? I haven't washed or pressure washed the underbody or anything and I can't think of anything odd that happened before the light came on.

Kinda sounds like what happen to me over the past 2 weeks. My brake light comes on, then it and slip light are on, then just the slip light stays on. If i shut my truck off and then back on it stay off. Then 4 or 5 days later it happens again.

Mine came on a while back, and they had to change the pressure switches on the master cylinder. They told me that had a bunch go bad and were on back order. It took them about a week to get them in.

When my slip light came on I had to replace my rear axle. For myself and many others here it was the start of the rear differential going bad.

I'll say this again, there is nothing inside the rearend that will light the slip light, there is also nothing inside the rear end that monitors the gears, or the metal. The slip light ONLY monitors the abs system. If you think I am wrong show me a link or post a diagram. In your case it had to be a coincedence.

or miss diagnosis and he just got a free rearend and it so happened came with new pressure sensors so it solved the problem of the slip lite

Yeah they never misdiagnose anything. My mom had a chevy corsica, and was visiting me. She went out to her car and it would not start, so I jumped it off and let it run for a while and told her to go to the dealer and make them change the battery. She drove home one hour away with the lights on, a/c on, radio, and windshield wipers. The next day the dealer changed her f***ing alternator. A few hours later her car would not start again. I went down there and screamed at them and they changed her battery. Never had any trouble again. They said the computer told them it was the altenator, I said you should try using some common sense. If she can drive a car for a hour with all that crap on and it is still running there is nothing wrong with the altenator.

yeah, I heard of a few titan drive shafts IIRC that were outta balance and they changed rear ends and it didn't fix it... or was it rear leaf springs.. I forget, but they got a bunch of new free parts so I wouldn't complain

Oh yeah, never complain about free parts. I just don't want someone to have a slip light come on and then have the freak out thinking the rear end is about to come apart.

Well now the brake light only comes on now and then and the SLIP light never comes on like it was. So I don't know what it is. Called the dealer to take it in next week.
