Titan took it's first ride

Titan took it's first ride on the back of a flatbed.

Truck 08.5
Miles 2542

At 900 miles I had to take it back to the dealer because the rotors were warped no biggie, truck at dealer one day, small inconvenience.Today not so small inconvenience

I hate getting stranded, when I get stranded by something I bought on 3/19/08. I am not happy at all.

I get to my buddies house to work on the new toy hauler about 9. I put my truck in the yard set the parking brake and we go to work. After a good day of getting things done I go to leave at 2, step on the parking brake to release it and the pedel comes up like the brake is released. I got about 3 feet and the dash monitor throws up the parking brake is on and the brake light is on in the upper right hand corner. I push the pedel down again and it has tension but it goes down and right back up. I turn it off restart and put it in drive and the truck wont move on it's own on idle, I giver her some gas and moves but you can feel it is being held back, put it in reverse same thing except when I give it a bit of gas it gives that nasty high pitch brake dragging noise.

Call the dealer, they tell me to call roadside assistance, really sucked to watch it get pulled up on the flatbed and taken away, of course every dodge ford and chevy truck had to toot the horn as they drove by.

Re: Titan took it's first ride

John, sorry to hear that. I'll share my story. Bought the SE last year in December. Found out my passenger carpet was getting wet and only to later learn that it was caused by a defect that should have corrected a while ago. Had my truck sit at the dealer all day and found out on my own almost at the end of the day that the truck wouldn't be ready in time for home. No loaner, had to wait for my wife to pick me up. Waited again the following day, all day and done. A week later carpet still wet as they did not change it as promised, brought it back again, took ll day again and finally done.

I had some vibration between 45 and 40 mph, so they changed out the front rotars and brakes. Love my 08 and really nice lookin too; just did not like the fact of a new truck already having to go back.

After all the work that's been done, it now runs trouble free, so far

I feel ya man.

Joe

Did they adjust the caliper?

They did not say anthing to me about that, they told me they took the pedal assembly apart and the cables from under the truck apart and lubed everything.

The work order says
Repair E/brake release - Lever jammed

Are the parking brake pads part of the Caliper on the titan?
