Ambient Thermometer Display Wrong!

I have a 2008 Pro4X with less than 500miles on it and I the only problem I have noticed thus far is with the dashboard information display concerning the ambient temperature. The temperature reads 46-50 degree's F no matter what the outside temp is. (It was 87degrees when I took it into the dealership and it still read 50degrees) The dealership had no answer after looking at it for over an hour and contacted Tech Support. Tech Support had no information for them so I am back to square one unless someone knows how to recalibrate the thermometer similar to the compass. I guess the only other solution is to replace the display, but I don't want the tech's to destroy my dash just for this feature.

Re: Ambient Thermometer Display Wrong!

There was another Thread awhile back about the display on some Titans being off by 3-4 degrees, but yours is way off, sounds like you need a new sensor or there is wiring problem.

It would almost have to be the sensor. The display can only tell you what it's receiving from the sending unit, and since the display varies somewhat that would seem to indicate the sensor isn't sending correctly. Not that the display is just "stuck".

Re: Ambient Thermometer Display Wrong!

After two trips to Nissan they still have no idea what the problem is, and accordingly "tech support" has nothing to offer. I am having them order a new sensor and will update this thread with the result.

Re: Ambient Thermometer Display Wrong!

Third time is the charm! The problem is solved! The reason for the faulty reading on the display was a result of a mechanic who performed the A/C Head Unit "Recall" for the 2008's, and placed the wrong "Head Unit" in the vehicle. Once this was determined the correct unit was placed on the vehicle, and the reading was correctly displayed.
I assumed it was the sensor as well, but since the dash display wiring is integrated in part through the A/C Control Unit it is understandable.
