My 2008 LE CC LB 4x4 is about a year old with only 3500 miles. It is not driven often. After sitting for few days, when I start the truck and shift to reverse, nothing happen for about 3 to 5 seconds and then the transmission shift to reverse hard. but after that, no problems. I am going to take it to the dealer to see if they can figure out what's going on. I was wondering if anyone is having the same problem or knows what the fix is. Thanks.
titanguru, your problem sort of sounds like a problem I had on a '72 Chevy pickup. My problem was low transmission fluid.

No, This is in my garage and it has nothing to do with the parking brake. I start the truck, put it in reverse to back out of the garage and nothing. I can give it gas and it will just rev up like it is in park or neutral. I think it is either low on fluid or the computer needs to be re flashed. I am going to take it to the dealer next week. I will park it in the dealer lot over the weekend and then have the service manager start it and put in reverse. Will provide an update after the dealer visit.
I was wondering about that as well. I have the same thing with my 08.5. Thing is though I rev it up couple of times and then it will act as no problem is there. Crank in the morning put in gear no rev and it sits there too. let me know what comes of it because if its a problem then I'll take mine in too.
besides that.. def could be low fluid... but weird such a new vehicle would have issues already

I had a 2004 Titan that had few issues but the transmission never exhibited this delay in shifting into reverse (the smooth transmission is one of the selling point for this truck). I also own three other vehicles and none of them need to be warmed up before shifting. The truck does not have this delay if driven daily but will have this delay if sitting for few days. I made an appointment at the dealer for Monday and I am going to drive the truck tonight and let it sit in their lot over the weekend and will have the service manager start it and see the delay and I will update what they say (probably the usual could not duplicate).
Went to the dealer this morning and the service manager explained that the torque converter is probably draining because my truck sits for few days between drives. I explained to him that my 04 Titan was driven the same way and it sat sometimes for weeks and the transmission never did that. So they take the truck in to check and called me back to let me know that the transmission needed a little more than two quarts to get it to the right level. It looks like the folks in Mississippi still have to work on their quality control not to mention the dealer prep. Oh well, will see if this will take care of this issue.
Even if they missed it in Mississippi, your dealer should have caught it had he done a proper PDI. I say blame the dealer, not the truck.
I love the truck but I bought it from another dealer out of town so it is tough to give them a peice of my mind. Anyhow, I miss my 04 and I swear it was faster than my 08. I don't know if it is the long bed weight but it definitely does not sound a good as my 04.

I noticed my 08 was slower than my 06 also stock for stock. My guess is the bigger rear end. What do you guys think? Neither of my trucks did what you are talking about though. To me it sounds like a fluid level problem.
