Do you think Nissan is / or is going to start offering some incentives on the Titans?
Several things seem to point to this...
1. Mention of $5000 of MSRP in some locations ($1,000 under invoice?)
2. Higher Gas Prices (oil edged up $2 a barrel today or 6%)
3. Tons of Titans on the lots (especially in Dallas & FtWorth, TX)
4. Other makes seem to be on the verge of offering big incentives on their trucks with similar large stocks of trucks on the lots.
5. 2005 Model is coming sooner or later.
I just about pulled the trigger over the weekend at a dealership, that was offering any vehicle at invoice, and no add on gimicks (tint, floor mats, scotch guard) at a lower interest rate than Dodge or Ford was offering.
But I have decided to wait a bit more. Another thing I wonder, if the truck market gets worse, and the incentives really start hitting, It will seem to hurt resell value as well. I guess you can't have it both ways..
If there is a potential buyer in the Denver Metro area, Email me and I can
recommend a dealer who will give you a good deal. I am not a salesman and am not associated with a dealership in any way. Also, I purchased a LE Monday afternoon. Ray
OldFart-
sent you a personnal message and sending one here. Am looking in the Denver area. Any info you have is greatly appreciated!
After reading this...I think I got ripped off...but I really don't care, the truck is bad ***. If you gotta worry about nickle and diming your *** all over the country for the lowest possible price you are gonna stress yourself out. Its too bad the dealer didn't have a 4x2 LE with the Nav stuff or I probably would a dropped the extra 4000 for that s#!t too...hehe. Although, I swore not to ever get a car with a sunroof, t-tops or convertible top after my Z28. They always leak, *$#@ I still hate my t-tops. I think I'll trade that pos in on a 350z tomorrow!!! Surely I'll be ripped off again by the evil car salesman but "what the %#@"!!!

Hard to read your message w/all that profanity. BTW - I think "bad ***" is all one word, but I'm not sure. I'll leave that up to the grammar police (Sammy Sandbag)!

my 2 cents
Just come on down to San Antonio. Theres a dealership here selling Titan XEs at $18,700 . I got mine from another dealer for $19,000. Here in SA everyone has either a Chevy or a Ford so the Nissan dealers are looking to move them. When I was looking at my truck it had been on the lot for over 90 days, so you know they're getting desperate around here.
Hey guys. I just got my titan on the 2nd of June. The dealer here in St. Louis MO said NMAC is offering 1.9% interest for 60 months. I also got a great deal on my new 4x4 LE Crew w/ big tow. I got him over 1000 under invoice with no money down. I love this freaking truck! Has any body else gone to a Ford dealer and got the "we aren't offering any specials or money off because we have been the best for 26 years." line. To which I replied well then you don't need my business. I got a way better truck for a great price. F___ FORD! Stuborn Bastards.
Hey all-
Love this site. The info you all have provided is going to prove to be invaluable once I am able to convinve my wife that I have to have this truck! Question: Has anybody purchased a car through carsdirect.com? Have noticed a couple of references to check out their pricing, but do not recall anyone saying they bought one from them. Not totally sure how it works either. Anybody got some info for this newbie? Am trying to get one this month to take advantage of the 1.9; the sooner the better! Have settled on an 4x4 Smoke or Deep Water SE with RF Captains, and OR package. Don't really need the big tow or much else. Keep your fingers crossed!! Any other advice would be great!!
So following previous deals.. of $4,000 off MSRP + $1,000 customer rebate. You should be able to pick up a Titan for at least $5,000 off (MSRP) if not more.
WOW, You do realize that beating up the salesman means getting thrown a beating back right? With some of the buying attitudes I hear here I can tell you 100% that you will NOT get the best deal from me if you try to play hard-***. You'll get a much better deal if you're civil and you actually know what a good deal is. $500 above would get you No Deal if you are a jerk to me. $400 over may get you a deal if you can be pleasant. Get it? But the thing I guess I didn't take into consideration is the fact that I don't treat customers like most salespeople do. And I have to give everyone the recognition that alot of the time buying a car sucks because of the games you have to play. So I appologize if I sounded like an assh#ole salesman. I get irritated because of the way that people treat the salesman on top of demanding a price that kills the profit that I get paid on. I wind up working for a small commission for 2 hours while some jerk abuses me by saying things like "If you don't want my money...so and so will!" etc. I know what Titans are going for in the area and I am going to make sure that you get as good or a little better deal than my compitition. I make a living on customer service. Trust me, I want you to trust me and come back to see my in the future. I want you to tell your friends to come see me. I just forget that soooo many salespeople give the ones like me a bad rap. I see where you all are coming from. Just realize that if you're getting a good deal and your salesperson is helpful, you'll get along great as long as there is a happy medium for both of you. Both sides have to agree for best results. It's amazing how enjoyable customers get the best care. I wash all my customers cars when I see them in for service, stuff like that. Not because I have to, but because I like them. I'll get to the end here, but the bottom line is that it's a hell of a truck. Most likely the best half ton out there. (the point could definitely be argued pretty easily) I say, DO find out what invoice is, but realize there are factors that can affect it so don't assume is exactly the amount you find online everytime. BUT, I think you're setting yourself up for an "all the dealer sees in you is a sale" type relationship than someone they like. Not that you need to buy their friendship. But there are perks for being an appreciated customer and not an un-realistic, beat up the salesman, hard to get along with type. If you get the typical slimy, fast talking slimy salesman...Beat him up!! lol. Just walk out of the dealership then. Just be realistic. Off like a prom dress...
I went to your dealership to buy a Xterra, you guys wouldn't deal at all. So I went to Story Nissan and they dealer traded for a yellow one I wanted that you had. The salesman there bent over backwards for me. No bend over=no business form me.

There is no dealer cash on Titans, just so everyone knows.

Need a new Nissan? In the Indy area?
Come see me at Ed Martin Nissan!! Ask for Kyle!
Bummer I guess Nissan's senior VP is a liar then. Or there is dealer cash in the pipeline soon for his sake.
``We're going to do some dealer cash on Titan,'' said Jed Connelly, Nissan's U.S. senior vice president, in an interview, `We can't match the domestics, but the competition has raised their spending. We have to be competitive.''
Lets see...how many ways can a dealership make a profit on a new car sale.
1. The amount they sell the vehicle for over the price they pay Nissan.
2. The dealer holdback
3. The financing deal
4. All dealership add-ons at the point of sale
5. Your trade-in.
6. Regular recommended warranty service
7. Subsequent out of warranty and parts sales (back end)
As far as I know the salesman only gets a portion of the sales price and maybe a shot at a spiff or two along the way. The dealer takes all the risk so he gets paid much better. And with a product like the Titan to move his neck is out pretty far from the lots I see around here by looking at the born on dates. Some of these vehicles have sat for months. It has to be humbling to Nissan to put all this effort in the the Titan and for whatever reasons, have to offer incentives the first year.
Some other random thoughts
It isn't necessary that you get deal, only that you feel good about the deal you got. That's what the salesman does.
And usually the guy that brags the most about how artful he is at snookering the dealer feels the best about the deal he got...see above statement
I just purchased my Titan by going to the dealers internet site and requested a quote plus sent a finance application with Nissan. Within 24 hours, I received a quote for $85.00 over invoice plus 1.9% financing over invoice.
I went to several other dealership and they wanted to quote from the MSRP down. I walked out the door with their tongues hanging.
The only area I could not get a good price was the dealer installed options. The saleman quoted msrp for a set of nerf bars and informed me that I was getting a discounted price. Since I could not find any aftermarket nerf bars, I accepted the dealerships price3 (the case of supply and demand.
I went to KBB but it wasn't that much help. It gave me some pricing and pointed me to a local dealer.
The final price is always important but over all, how does the Titan perform. KBB did not seem to think it is any more than average at best. I looked in Consumers report but it is not in there yet.
