I've been offered a price on a Titan SE 4x4 Crew with the following packages: Off-Road w/locking diff., Utility Bed, Big Tow, Popular w/Captain Chairs. Dealer says they will sell it to me for $30,980 + TTL and they will throw in an extended warranty. Their out-the-door (OTD) price is $32,370. Does this deal look reasonable compared to what others are seeing around the country? They've already turned down an earlier OTD offer I made on the truck (which also included an extended warranty).
It's obvious (at least around here) that these trucks aren't moving as well as expected. The Nissan lots are full of Titans, with more arriving daily. Based on some of the prices I've seen others get, this offer doesn't look all that bad.
I calculated $25K at 3.5%APR to be $385/month vs $26K at 1.9% to be at $382/month. Not much difference.
If you have a good credit, pick the $1000, because the diff between say your 3.5% APR and their 1.9% isn't much. And just incase something happen to your truck, you have $1000 less to have to pay off.... Happened to me with one of my car.... but that's another story
I am in the process of negotiating Titan crew cab SE with bigtow, popular pkg with bench, utility bed pkg. OTD price right now is $29000 WITH 1.9%, that's right at invoice minus $1000 rebate. I am pushing for about $28000. Will see what happen. Will update when I get the truck.
PS: according to one of the sale guy, your FICO credit score has to be above 699 to get the 1.9%.
If I took the $1000.00, NMAC quoted 5.9 % for 5 years. That where I came up with $2200.00. Other lending sources wanted from 6 3/4 to 7.9%, so the 1.9% was better for me.

Comments?
Pot Hole,
I quickly priced your truck on CarsDirect.com using a Moorseville zip code to isolate the pricing for your region. Based on the options you mentioned and not including TTL, they show MSRP=$32,650; Invoice=$30,975; CarsDirect price (includes $1000 rebate)=$32,650. If their offer to you of $30,980 includes the $1000 rebate, then they are still making as much as $1005 on the deal if the invoice price is right on. Many on this forum, including myself, have gotten dealers to accept offers that made them far less profit. If their offer doesn't include the rebate, then it sounds like a decent deal. I also noticed that the CarsDirect price is very high for your area which may indicate that there is not much dealer competition in that area. Priced the same truck for a Southern California zip code (lots of competition here) and only the Carsdirect price changed (down to $30,024). Hmmm... I hope this info helps and we hope to hear from you in the future as a happy Titan owner.

Cal, the price they quoted me does notinclude the $1K rebate. I had already told the dealer upfront that I planned to take advantage of the 1.9% financing so the price the dealer quoted me is without the rebate. That is why I believe this is decent deal. I have yet to get the details on what extended warranty they are offering me (there are several levels of warranty protection), but even with the lowest level, for them to throw in a warranty that should amount to at least another $1K+ bucks they are adding to the deal, right?
As for the competition here in the southern piedmont of NC, I have about 25 dealers within a 100 miles of my house or roughly a dozen within 50 miles of my house. I don't know how that compares to Southern California, but with the City of Charlotte only 30 minutes from here, you would think I could negotiate a half-way decent price.
Anyway, I would like to think that me and the dealer are very close to a deal, and with some compromising on both sides, we can get a deal done by the end of next week.
Hopefully Cal, I will be riding in a Titan myself very soon! Thanks for the comments.
OK,
Just drove out the dealership with my new TITAN
Here is the break down:
2004 Titan CrewCab SE 2WD
Popular package with bench
Big Tow
Utility Bed Package
Utili-Track Sliding Bed Extender
Floor Mats
Splash Guard
White
Born 7/23/04.
Car is $27076, TTL and misc came to a total of $28629 WITH 1.9% APR.
Invoice I calculated from Edmunds is $27630, so it is $554 below invoice.
I think I made a decent deal. It's in Austin, TX.
Charles.
Frankly, you guys are going to crucify me for saying this because I sell them, but where do you get your numbers from? 3-400 above invoice!? If you don't like the Titan, just say so. I know I wouldn't walk around telling everyone my new truck is't worth even close to what they charge. Why not tell everyone it's a cheap piece of **** too? You guys are never happy. It's better in just about every way than the competiton, ALREADY COSTS LESS, and hold it's value MUCH BETTER and you're sying it's not worth what Nissan says it is? Come on. Get a good deal, but that figure is stupid. People that think that way are the reason a brand name loses value. If you're so cheap, why don't you go for the rebates of a domestic? Oh wait, it's because they aren't as good, they depreciate too fast and they start off over priced. Stop being silly and enjoy the Titan for the good truck it is.
I have a 8 year old Ford F-150 which the value has dropped 80% from time I had purchased it. Can you tell me that the Nissan Titan will not do same drop at the same rate.?
TGerm,
Just wanted to throw in my $.02 if you're looking for a truck in Austin; I got a SE King Cab yesterday for $400 under invoice before rebate with very little haggling, so pricing on these trucks is soft right now. No doubt I could've gotten it for less if I would've walked off and called them back on Friday (end of the month) but they had been reasonable and it was what I wanted so I pulled the trigger.
The only trick I had was finding what I wanted in stock; I ended up going to a San Antonio dealer to get the package I was looking for. However, I talked with both the Austin dealers on other trucks, and they didn't push back when I told them I wanted the truck for below invoice, so be aggressive on pricing. With things as competitive as they are in the truck category right now I wouldn't be surprised to see $5-6,000 or more off MSRP the norm for Titans in the next 6 months. I feel like I owe a big thank-you to Nissan for building such a great truck; it's ironic that their entry into the market is one of the many factors that is pushing the pricing down on all 1/2 tons.

So, what did you pay for title and license fees. What is you sales tax %?
TGerm,
It's SouthPoint Nissan.
A little trick, don't come down to the dealer, talk with them on the phone and negotiate until you got an agreement. And DON'T EVER try to negotiate truck price, ALWAYS negotiate OTD (Out The Door) price. I negotiated a car price long time ago, dealer agreed, went down and they hit me with $500 misc fee!!!!. They took their time and worned me down. The last 5 cars I bought (family and all) was always OTD price.Took me 1 week for negotiation for this truck.
Call them first but then don't call them back, let them call you, don't show that you want the truck. But you all know about this right?
As Mateo said, it is getting to the end of the month, you should get a good deal now.

In Austin, the tax is 6.25%, then all kind of fees and stuff, oh and $50 doc fee HARD PRINT on the contract. No way to get around it.
General Car Leasing. Check out this site. We've purchased a few vehicles from them. Most recently the Titan. Crew Cab,LE, 4x2, Sadona color, price with Tow Pack and Air bags was just over $29k. We lease all of our vehicles (can't seem to stay away from that new car smell I guess!!). My guy always hits rock bottom on prices compared to any dealerships I've talked to. Hassle free too. He beat every "Internet Sales Manager" I found. Can't wait to take delivery in about 7 days.

Reason: Forgot Model type
CyBwRBill,
Just read your question on the other thread. You DO want to know all the fees . My answer of "all kind of fees and stuff... " did not help . OK, just went out to my truck, raining btw, and get the contract. So here it is:
1. Sale tax 6.25%
.
.
4.E Dealer's Inventory Tax : $58.54
4.H Government License and/or registration : $72.30
4.I Government Certificate of title fees : $33.00
4.J Government Vehicle Inspection fees : $21.75
4.L Documentary Fee(Cargo Documental0 :$50.00
4. TOTAL OTHER CHARGES : $235.59
Explaination: OK, so line with 1. is the tax line. Line started with 4. is the misc fee lines.
So total misc they charged me is $235.59 + 6.25% Tax +car price total =$28629
As I said above, the only dealer fee is the $50 doc fee, hard print on the contract. There are several "other charge fees" line that they put "N/A". Bet ya if I negotiated car price, they will put more in this category.
Anything to help out fellow Titan owner. This contract is in TX btw.
I'm holding out to see what may be differnt in the '05 model - hopefully it's not just the price. I used edmonuds.com a lot when looking at the Titan and Ford 150. I also like the site carbuyingtips.com. I'm with most of you guys here. To me if you could walk in and say i'll give you 3% over invoice saleman would make more sales. It seems simple. I mean really if you pay 37K for the truck 1100.00 would sound great to me.
AN 04' CHEVY SILVERADO, LOADED. STICKER $36,000+ CAN NOW BE "HAD" FOR AROUND $27,000. AFTER THE $4k REBATE. SAME OUTFIT, CARMAX. JUST SOME FOOF FOR THOUGHT.
