Hey all! A Tundra owner currently, BUT trying to be a titan owner. Very impressive thus far. Test drove one for the second time yesterday. Everything was good till we sit down to "talk numbers". I know how to do my homework & purchase vehicles. These guys must have thought I was an idiot. Yea they had invoice, BUT that was the 1,500 rebate & the Nissan family discount included...after all that and they tried to give me invoice bottomline and this was after we negotiated the price then I told them about the family discount. Well needless to say I stood up & thanked him for his time promptly got the h#ll outta there! I can wait a Titan I'm in no rush. I know first year models sometimes have to get the kinks worked out. If the dealer above would have been near me I would be Tundraless & a Titan owner! The site is great & kudos to all titan owners your trucks are sweet. BTW former nissan chief 91 p/u owner 200,000 plus & was going strong when I saw her drive off in the distance!
From Carmax in Washington D.C.. 04' LE 4WD Crew, sticker $36,560. Off Road Pkg, Splash Guards, Tow Pkg, Mats. Invoice $33,024, my cost before taxes, title, etc., etc..$30,838. About as good a price I've gotten. This one via the web. I figure their cost in this unit is around $30,725. Now if someone would just explain this family discount stuff to me.
Hello All,
I am new to this board and wanted to say hi to everyone. I purchased my Titan 3 days ago. SE Crew Cab 4X4 Popular Captain's, Big Tow and Bedliner. I love this truck.
Artsbest and Joekrz: If those deals are real, go and buy them!!! I sold cars for 3 years, even sold nissan for about a year. Those are great deals. Basically the dealer is saleing you the car for true cost. There is not much left but a couple hundred dollars. Those prices seem to good to be true, make sure they dont try to add freight back in. Dealers do that alot when they sell something below invoice. Good Luck!

It's true. I am meeting them at a local truck stop at 12pm today. Hope to take some pics and post them. When I mentioned the great price they gave me the sales manager mentioned something about getting better allocation for selling more Titans which is why he did it. He said he still had 15 more '04's on his lot The truck I am getting doesn't have the bedliner in it right now, but he is having it delivered to my house. He said they were on back order.
They must be really trying to move their trucks. That allocation thing is true, but I have never seen a dealer give away a vehicle for it. Congratulations!!
I agree that the price I was quoted is just a couple hundred ABOVE their TRUE COST. But if you look at what GM announced today I think it's, as has been said by many in the auto world, the BEST time to purchase a vehicle in
20+ years. Why? OVERSTOCKED. GM is going to announce a 3-day NO INTERSET for 72 months campaign shortly. What they're NOT telling everyone is that most DO NOT qualify for a car loan of that length. DESPERATION is reigning here and that's why the above mentioned price quote I received is occuring. Carmax has MORE 04 Titan's on their web site then they've had all year. And here we are at the end of the 04' season. GM's SUV inventory is at a 120 day supply, where 60-70 is the norm. The Titan price quote from Carmax BEAT my closest dealer by $1,800. I returned to that dealer and showed him the price quote e-mail, and he called it a fake. I walked out and will purchase this vehicle, even though I'm 700 miles away. Thanks for your response it was very much appreciated. And NO the destination charge was NOT added back in.
I don't want to offend a salesman, but Those guys are making plenty of money. I purchased my Titan for $2000 below invoice. I researched the price on the internet and went to a dealer that would work with me. I love my truck.
If you do your research you will find that there is more to "The bottom line than meets the eye" Dealer invoice...what a joke
Dealer invoice
- Factory to Dealer incentives (they will not tell you about)
- Dealer to Customer incentives (they may tell you about)
- Rollback (What the dealer gets from the Factory when advertising their product, campaigns, etc)

Once I knew the figure to aim for I called the largest Nissan dealer in Houston and got the truck at the price I wanted.
After the deal the sales manager said they lost money on the deal....I called him on his sob story....they more product they move the better the deals and the more incentives....he finally said yeah...they make their money one way or another...(in this case volume).....I was lucky to have been on the winning side of the deal.
If you can not get the deal you want go somewhere else....find a hungry salesman...he will fight the manager for the sale.
Best of luck to all
