Has the $1,500 rebate on '04 models been increased to $2,000 nationally by Nissan, or just some select Dealers? My local dealer, and the Nissan website don't seem to acknowledge the $2,000 rebate...
This past Tuesday I became a proud new owner of a Nissan Titan. I researched this vehicle for four months prior to buying (invoice pricing, available packages, test reviews, forums, etc.) Since my last purchase of a domestic 1/2 ton was terrible, I decided I would develop a plan before I set foot in a dealership. (1) Called my bank for pre-approval so I would know walking in what my worst case APR would be, (2) called three local dealerships that responded back to me from carsdirect.com and made appointments to look at vehicles, and (3) went to kbb.com to find out what my trade was worth. At 9AM Tuesday I was ready to buy a vehicle because I had put in the time and effort to do the things I mentioned above. After 4 hours of negotiation, I had a new Titan SE 4x4 Crew Cab with SE Poplar w/ captain chair, Big Tow, and Utility Bed packages at invoice minus $2000 rebate, had my trade-in paid off, and they matched my APR at 3.9%. I believe that if you don't like what you are quoted get up and leave. Hence the reason I mentioned step #2; go to the next dealership if you are not happy. Buying a car is a numbers game using patience!!!! My last purchase taught me everything not to do in this purchase! Just thought I would pass on my experience for others.
Dawg51, I just got exactly the same deal Saturday. SE 4X4, CC, Big Tow, Off Road, Utili-bed, trade-in paid off ('02 F 150 SuperCrew), and at 3.9%. invoice -$2000. I was there from noon - 7:00PM.
After 3 months of research and evaluation I bought my Titan on Saturday. I reviewed dealer inventory at nissanusa.com, found the exact truck I was looking for and called the dealer. They came back with a price at $1,500 over invoice and I said nope... "I have another dealer at $500 below invoice (new-nissans.com - Thanks Adam!), but not the exact truck I wanted. 2005's are out in 2 weeks. This is a chance to perform a quick deal and reduce inventory." Asked them to go back to the drawing room. They called back 30 mins at invoice -2000. I already had financing arranged. The dealership was 50 miles away, they picked me up the next morning and I drove home in my truck. LOVE IT!
Congrats Dirty Eddie and Eli! What color did you guys get? I ended up getting a white one. I absolutely love my Titan! Never had a truck with this kind of power and it seems to rev like it's a V6. Talk to ya later.
Did anybody lease their truck? If so, for how many months and what was the residual and money factor? We are looking into getting a Titan but the thought of 2 car payments is scaring my wife to death (we just bought a '03 Honda Pilot last July). Leasing will probably be the route we take be we're trying to find out residuals so we can get an estimate of what the payment would be. Thanks
Frankly, you guys are going to crucify me for saying this because I sell them, but where do you get your numbers from? 3-400 above invoice!? If you don't like the Titan, just say so. I know I wouldn't walk around telling everyone my new truck is't worth even close to what they charge. Why not tell everyone it's a cheap piece of **** too? You guys are never happy. It's better in just about every way than the competiton, ALREADY COSTS LESS, and hold it's value MUCH BETTER and you're sying it's not worth what Nissan says it is? Come on. Get a good deal, but that figure is stupid. People that think that way are the reason a brand name loses value. If you're so cheap, why don't you go for the rebates of a domestic? Oh wait, it's because they aren't as good, they depreciate too fast and they start off over priced. Stop being silly and enjoy the Titan for the good truck it is.
Hey its not hard to get $300 above invoice, I got $150 above invoice plus a $2000 rebate, for a Titan KC big tow , off road LE. with a great trade in they gave me a $1000 above what NADA trade in value was saying, for my 2000 gmc ext cab 4x4 sle z71, so you see there are dealerships out there that will deal. All you have to do is go and shop. Also to stay away from dealerships that wont deal!!!!
WOW... alot of info on this subject.... I did my research, and got my vehicle at 750 UNDER INVOICE... yes, I did see the invoice, matched the VIN #'s all that good stuff, and actually went away feeling good. Don't let those salesmen get the better of you. I had to resort to getting quotes from the internet, and 4 different dealers called me, low balling each other to get my business. Since I already knew what I wanted and was ready to buy, They all were kissing my *** to get my business. good luck

Hey, GezonMotors:
Just send those guys (the average consumer) you call cheap my way, and I'll find a way to make a good living at $500 UNDER Dealer Invoice. Who are you to say what the consumer should pay? It is their money! And if you are willing to pay more than $400 over yourself give me a call dude when you want one, I'll gladly let you feel the value of the Titan by selling one to you for, what $700-800 over?

Wish I would have read the posting by the boss before I bought my truck! I started out calling a large national dealer in Clearwater, Fl. They had a 2004 king cab advertised for $17988.00 including the $2000.00 rebate. The sticker price was $24xxx.00 Before going to the dealer I called to make sure the truck was still available. I was told there were three available. When I arrived less than an hour later I was told all were gone. I know I should have left at this point but I wanted a titan. I was talked into a 2004 titan 4x4 bedliner, step rails and tow package. I was told this was a "demo truck". This was supposed to be an SE model and even stated this on the documentation. Long story short I found out it was infact an xe NOT an SE and it was Not a "demo" but rather a used truck! After driving the truck fro 10 days or so the dealer called to tell me the financing was not going through with the bank I signed with. At that time they needed me to come back in to sign the new paperwork! I told the GM I would not be signing the papers and he could keep his truck. I was tired of being lied too! He gave me a choice of either $500.00 back or a new truck. I told him I wanted the truck they had advertised in the paper for $17988.00 with this he amazingly found one. I know I should have just left and gone to another dealer. Though I just wanted to be done with the whole thing! So I agreed to the NEW 2004 xe. I figured I can have any warranty work done elsewhere! I bought what is considered a base truck. As I understand it the only this extra on the truck is the bedliner and floormats. This is what I wanted and I am very happy with the truck. I owned a 95 kingcab 4x4 and loved it.That truck had 213000 miles on it when I bought the new titan. I love the nissan line and will buy another in the future. I am not sure what kind of relationship the factory has with each individual dealer; but with all the postings on this site and the surveys they send us; I would think they would do SOMETHING to ensure this kind of transaction doe's not go un-noticed.
i understand that nissan is currently offering rebates on the titan. is it reasonable to expect to buy a titan for near invoice and then the rebate off of that price? or is the dealer just playing games with the numbers and taking the rebate off the list price.

Very reasonable ....
New-nissans.com has said that they are offering $750 below invoice for the rest of the year ... and the rebate is YOURS !!
Holdbacks are probably none of our business as buyers.
I cannot agree. As a consumer I believe it is my right to know as much as I can about the product I'm buying, be it cost, feature, warrantee or whatever.
Here is a great read for someone who wants more insights into what knowing about holdbacks can do for you.
