Couple of New Problems

Well today my luck ran out on no problems but the 2 that happened today don't seem too bad. I noticed this morning that the carpet on the front passenger side is soaking wet. I hadn't been in any wet weather until this evening so I think the drain from the HVAC is either not hooked up or pinched off somewhere.

The second thing that cropped up tonight is my HVAC fan only works in the full blast selection. No 1-3, just 4, so I guess it's time to call the dealer and see if they can fix these two items. Like I said earlier, I don't consider either one to major, just annoying.

Update

Well I took my beloved truck into the dealership today and they found that the plug on the fan switch was just barely attached from the factory, so they clipped it on with no other problems. The leak on the passenger side floor was determined to be a sunroof drain hose that had kinked, so they shortened it about 3 inches and routed it back into the frame rail. That was the second truck they had seen with the wet floor and they said the drain hose for the sunroof is too long causing it to kink when it goes into the frame rail. Just FYI for those of you with sunroofs.

If you get the Nav System, you have to get the sunroof. You also have to get the DVD player and the side curtain air bags. It is all a matter of how bad you realy want the Nav System.

Fortunately for someone like myself who's after the sunroof but not the navigation system, you "only" have to add an extra $3000 Cdn. What I'm curious about is how the sunroof affects the storage compartments on the ceiling(are there any?) and do you still have enough headroom with the sunroof installed? I believe from the specs, you lose 1.3" with the sunroof. I'm 6'2" and a lot of sunroof equipped vehicles pose a problem.

You do lose all the storage except the sunglass holder.

I don't notice any height problems with the sunroof. They might lower the headliner slightly, but the headroom in this truck is so much better than any other I have checked out that it might not be an issue.

I have a friend that is 6'5" and he has no problem sitting in the truck and he does not touch the ceiling. Of course if you sit straight up in the seat you might see a difference. He likes to recline his seat slightly so that might make a difference.

I'm 6'4" and have plenty of room. I'm not a big fan of sunroofs (I had one of the old style flip up ones that leaked badly on a Jeep CJ7 that I finally ended up caulking shut after numerous trips to the dealer), but I couldn't find one available with the other stuff I wanted, without a sunroof. The only storage compartment on the ceiling is a little sunglass case that is forward of and not affected by the sunroof. The DVD screen is rearward of and not affected by the sunroof.

4 x 4, Crew Cab LE, sunroof, NAV, DVD, Off-Road, Big Tow

Where exactly is the sunroof drain tube to be found? Is it underneath the frame somewhere on the passenger's side? I would like to check this out before the flood.

Hello, I am new here:

Let me just say I love my 2005 Titan, however I have had the brakes replaced 2 times and the front floor passenger side has been soaking wet since may. I just hit 4000 miles. They cannot fix the leak as far as I can see. First time they said it was the air conditioning hose, (fixed) they did not clean the carpet or deodorize or replace. Second time they said there was leak in the side door roof. (fixed) they did not clean the carpet or deodorize or replace. My carpen is now moldy dis-colored and it stinks. I have had it detailed once but I cannot afford to do this all the time.
Nissan has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my adult life. My husband and I have always owned chevys our whole life this is my first /last import. I need this truck fixed and I find the dealer and the company very difficult to deal with and get answers from. Any advice? I have been taking lots of pictures and documenting because after a while my carpet will no long be cleanable. I took it to an imparshal mechanic and he said the water leak will be very hard and expensive to fix.

Take it to a different dealer. Sounds like your problem is with a specific dealership, not Nissan in general.

hershey - What did your "impartial mechanic" say was the problem? Don't call all Nissan service as bad just because the dealer you went to stinks. It isn't fair and I can say the same thing about several local chevy dealers. Report the dealership and your problems to Nissan. Mold is a serious issue and I would make sure you have all service records and possibly contact a lawyer to have a chat with the dealership about the health issues their neglegence may cause if you MUST keep using them. Personally I'f give a different dealership a shot at the problem, especially if it is under warranty.

Water in cab

I addressed with 1-800-NISSAN about taking my Nissan to a closer dealership and they said no i could not take it there because the other dealership was already paid to fix this. I am getting ready to file my final complaint with Nissan on this issue. I have already contacted a lawyer and sent the pics and documentation. The trucks smells like a sewer inside. (since may the 3rd day after I bought it) I had to have the detail done myself. They fixed it twice and the second time they kept it a week and sent it back to me with the water still so deep in the front seat that it was over the mat......and the florida sunshine made it stink to high heaven.

"They were already paid to fix it." So how does that effect the price of tea in China? The problem is still there and was obviously not fixed. If it is a reoccuring problem you can take it to any Nissan dealer and have it fixed. Why waist your time hiring an attourney before even trying another dealership. I'm starting to smell the stink too and it kinda smells like a troll.

Water in cab.

This is what my carpet looks like every day. Put mat on it go to work for 8 hours come out when its 90 degrees and tell me how you like it. The last time I picked it up the manager told me it was leaking from the door???? That was a month ago and it stinks every day.

You must like it that way or you would have already went to another dealer and had it fixed. If the truck is under 12,000 miles they have to fix it. Maybe you should try 1800nissan again and ask to speak to a manager. I know from experience some times certain call centers have dumbsh&ts working there and dont know what they are talking about. I assure you it is covered under warranty

and it will stink forver. Try to lemon it. I'm in the process of doing that as my truck smells everyday, especially when it's hot outside. The a/c hose leaked water and we have the carpet replaced and everything. The carpet install is sh*t. The truck has never been the same since it leaked water. The smell is still there and will always be there. I probably never buy another Nissan due to poor customer service. They tryed to say they didn't smell anything, yet when we went to pick up the truck, the windows were rolled down and it was being aired out. The Nissan engineer claimed the smell.. that was "never there" was coming from a tacobell wrapper in one of those car trashbags that attaches to the headrest.
