First Service Today--I miss the Truck Already

Took the smoke in today for

1) overhead compartment-screw--guy told me they dont have any parts for the titan they all have to be ordered (what in the heezy is that Nissan??)
2) rust in the bedliner, and utility track(who knows where that came from)---at first he tried to say that I put the rust in there from some sort of metal--then I showed him how extensive it was, and said OOOHHH now I see , and that he'll have to take it to body shop---Nissan is killing me with the lack of responsibility on some of these things
3) front/rear differential fluid check
4) replace the rear differential cover ( has started to rust already--just minor though)
5) rotate tires as the truck drifts to the right a little
6) oil change (3800 miles)
7) steering wheel control faceplate replacement(has to order this also
8) brake replacement/brake dust--no judder--but the brake pedal travel length is way long now-well see if they replace the rotors. told me the only way to eliminate brake dust is to change to aftermarket pads--but that would kill the rotor warranty--something about the removal of asbestos in the nissna pads. basically a crock for a bad design, but well seee how it goes
9) tranny shifter sometimes not exact (steering column)
10) water on the floor on passenger side from AC outlet

took it too Elk grove Nissan--gave me a free rental (which was cool--guess what it is a f150 witht the 4.6L at least it is crew I guess)

ill post back in a few days how it goes--you never know how much you like something until it is in service

didnt even try to ask about the radio issue as we all know how that goes

talked to the guy today at the dealership, Nissan is starting to get me a little angry --heres the final update

1) overhead compartment-screw--guy told me they dont have any parts for the titan they all have to be ordered (what in the heezy is that Nissan??)

the part is backordered, and I am # 7 in line--so It will be a few months

2) rust in the bedliner, and utility track(who knows where that came from)---at first he tried to say that I put the rust in there from some sort of metal--then I showed him how extensive it was, and said OOOHHH now I see , and that he'll have to take it to body shop---Nissan is killing me with the lack of responsibility on some of these things

going to the body shop on friday--got it back said the rust is not covered/nor nissans responsibility by --get this they say it may be due to INDUSTRIAL RUNOFF????--SO now I have to wash it let the rust come back, and then contact Nissan to arrange a mtg with a district rep to MAYBE get it fixed

3) front/rear differential fluid check

said it was full, but why is my differential turning a rust color???--didnt fix anything--but at least they ordered me a two new front/rear differential cover--again backordered--Im # 1 in line

4) replace the rear differential cover ( has started to rust already--just minor though)

see 3)

5) rotate tires as the truck drifts to the right a little

hey it did help so I am happy about that

6) oil change (3800 miles)

easy enough--done--and after the trouble it was free--they didnt charge me--and they even washed and vacuumed and armor all'd my tires--and cleaned off all the ridiculous brake dust --so that was way cool to me

7) steering wheel control faceplate replacement as it is scratched up(has to order this also

the part is backordered, of course didnt give me a outline of time as I am the first with the problem--typical--but at least they ordered it

8) brake replacement/brake dust--no judder--but the brake pedal travel length is way long now-well see if they replace the rotors. told me the only way to eliminate brake dust is to change to aftermarket pads--but that would kill the rotor warranty--something about the removal of asbestos in the nissna pads. basically a crock for a bad design, but well seee how it goes

could not duplicate--lenght was normal to them, and since no judder--they cant do the TSB on the brakes---had the manager drive with me, and he told me the travel length was normal. he jokingly said it was not as good as the maxima because it was a truck( I was not laughing)--all i know is that is was better after I first got the truck, and definitely longer than the rented f150--Im sure Ill be back on the brake issue in a few 1000 miles

9) tranny shifter sometimes not exact (steering column)

once again they coudlnt replicate

10) water on the floor on passenger side from AC outlet

guess what they couldnt replicate--guess Ill have to do the mod form the forums myself

so all in all not too bad even though I was way upset that one of the techs saw my aftermarket power wire, and turned the bass, and midrange on the deck tot he max----and blew my speakers---I havent identified which ones all I know is that I have some terrible sound now from the right side (which I will have to replace--so all you aftermarketers watch you stereo when taking to service---disconnect your amps or you will be out $400 like me) since I had them tuned right at the max before distortion hit--and get this I turned the stereo off and turned the volume all the way down before I dropped it off to protect myself---these aholes mess with my settings, blow my speaker--and then try and cover there tracks by just turning off the stereo

Nissan will be getting a very nasty letter in the mail--and thank goodness I just got my jd power review--and I swear at 3900 miles this shouldnt be happening---at 3yr/36,000 toyota might be getting a new customer if they can just beef up their engine

Sorry Smoke! I had a gut feeling when I read your post and the number of issues you described that needed attention you were not going to get much positive results. Hang in there but keep on them to take care of your Baby. Keep us posted! - Take Care!!
