Tailgate update

If you ever experience a tailgate that won't unhinge and open here's
one fix.......the plastic liner that's screwed to the inside of the tailgate
is held in place by 8 scews. Remove them and it exposes the insides
of the mechanism. When you lift the outside handle it pulls the right
and left side rods inward, releasing the rods so the tailgate can
open. One had slipped out and was laying at the bottom of the inside
of the tailgate. Put it back in place and now everything works..I think
it was not pushed in tight in the first place. A ten minute deal......

Thanks for the great info! I just picked up my Red Brawn CC 4X2 LE in San Antonio last night and one of the things I checked was the "tailgate issue" and I have the same problem! I will check out your fix for it tonight and then report back............ this is what these forums are about........ sharing the good and bad info to other owners.

Thanks again!
