Hello everyone, I am a titan newbie who just bought a 04 titan SE and love it. My problem is that when I start the truck there is a grinding sound that comes from under the dash and it last about 3 seconds (sounds like something in the adjustable pedals) and it will not do it again unless I shut off the truck and let it sit for about 2 or 3 minutes. It sounds like something re-adjust after about 2 or 3 minutes after the truck is shut off cause it sounds like something is moving under the dash again. I am just curious if anyone has herd of this or knows how to fix it.
Mine does that a few minutes after cutting it off...
Just a damper in the duct work closing from what nissan told me..
Been 5 yrs. and all else is working fine-AC/heat/defrost etc...
It does it on mine and did it on my 04 before, everytime. I just learn to ignore it, I know a lot of people have that issue as well. about 10 seconds after startup and about 2 minutes after turning off. Nothing to be concerned about.

I hope I don't have to live with it. The grinding noise when I start the truck is alot louder then the one when I shut off the truck. If I shut off the truck and then start it right back up there is no grinding.
Kimper-
You can certainly get it fixed at the dealership, it just may cost a pretty penny! Here's a thread I had awhile back on it that has some good info from other members here. Help with Horrible HVAC sound...
You wouldn't hear it if you turn the truck off then right back on. The "damper" resets a few minutes after you turn your truck off (turn it off and just sit in it awhile, eventually you will hear it).
I still have not done anything about it! It is annoying and some day I will, but for now everything works and I just don't have the time or ambition to try to fix it!
BTW, congrats on the truck and welcome to TT!
