Hey Beason,
Did you ever end up replacing the relay you "borrowed?" If so, where did you find another one? I just checked Courtesy Parts and I don't see a matching part listed -- only a whole new IPDM.
i switched the relays and it works!! i dont have fog lights anymore, but hey.. ill find another relay.[/quote]

Don't know why but NISSAN does NOT offer for sale the relay as an individual part. You have to get the whole IPDM.
actually i put the "bad" relay back in to the fog light socket, turned them on, and after about 8 seconds they turned on and have been working ever since. i did find one on ebay that is very close if not the same relay just "rebadged". i havent tried it yet but it rides in the console just in case.

Well I ended up replacing the whole IPDM, same part number that Brandx55 used. I paid $98 at the dealer parts counter. My advice to anyone with a failed IPDM -- make sure your dealer sells you the right part # (since apparently some dealers still have the old part in stock) and don't be afraid to negotiate with your parts counter salesman. Supposedly it's an upgraded part, so I feel better spending the extra money on the whole enchilada instead of just the relay.

What is the correct part number for the new one? I just replaced my ECM relay as per beason's troubleshooting and now my truck is running fine. My fog lamps come on after a bit of a lag. I did notice the relay for the ECM has a 5 on it and the rest have a 4 on them. What is the difference? I couldn't find it in the service manual (quick read through). 3 cheers for beason, he saved me much time troubleshooting this. I was looking at first checking fuel pressure...glad I saw this first.

go get it and switch it yourself. at least you will have a ride until they get more in. unless they are providing you with a loaner, and your happy with that.

2 months ago the truck wouldn't start, just kept turning over. Every once in a while the battery would even be dead. The needles on all the gauges would flutter for about 10 seconds. I had a 2005 Armada also that didn't start, towed it to the dealer and $500 later they put in a new IPDM. I assume I am having the same problem with the Titan. I did come up with a trick that has worked, turn the key to on, wait a few seconds, then to start. The truck will turn over for 1-3 seconds then start up. I have been doing this for 2 months now and it has started up everytime. I also noticed the my rearview mirror's compass/digital thermometer is out.
After reading all of us amateurs stumble through our similar adventures I hopped down to my local Japanese truck junkyard and bought 2 of the relays. I just swapped the relays out. When I turn directly to start it turns over 2 seconds then starts, but the gauges still flutter.
I don't know if it would have started anyway without the swap. I'll update over time.
I did find out the IPDM is on nationwide backorder from Cerritos Nissan (California), so I would recommend going to the nearest junkyard and getting a couple of the relays. I paid $25 for 2.
mine would start, get me down a road a bit, then die. so i doubt letting it sit for 3 seconds with the key on would have helped.. you may have bigger problems..
