How long did it take to get exhaust manifolds changed???

I had 2 cracked exhaust manifolds, so I am having the dealership relplace them under warrenty. Well I dropped my truck off at the dealership Last thursday at 9:00am. Well it is now a week later and they are still not done with it and they are telling me its going to be Friday if not next week sometime before it is done. I am just trying to figure out what is taking so long and if this is a normal length of time to have it for this problem. I brought the truck in that day because they had ordered the parts for it and were already here. So there was no wait time for parts. I mean I can't complain because its all being done for free but still its taking forever. lol Well I guess I am done for now. Thanks

It should have been done in one day.

Re: How long did it take to get exhaust manifolds changed???

1 day? What in the world could be taking so long then? I guess I should just go up there tomorrow and asked too see my truck. It is kind of starting to piss me off. lol I have things I need to get done on it still. And I missed out on winning a car show ha ha ha, well at least taking 3rd. They had a truck class and only 2 trucks showed up and 3rd place was a new car starter. Damn them

Re: How long did it take to get exhaust manifolds changed???

I'm guessing the dealer had a bunch of "Customer pay" work which gets priority of warranty work...
2 days max to complete the job...IF all the parts are there...The dealer also could have forgotten to order just one part and the truck sits until it comes in...

Re: How long did it take to get exhaust manifolds changed???

Well I went up there yesterday and talk too my buddy who is the one working on my truck. He told the service ppl to call me and tell me not to even drop my truck off until this week because 1 guy was on vacation and that left just 2 of them in the garage. Well needless to say they never called me. He just brought my truck in yesterday to start working on it and he isn't even sure they are going to let him work on it all the way through. He said he is hoping to have it finished by this time next week. I know its now his fault and all but they could of been straight forward with me on the phone and it wouldn't have bothered me as much. Oh well, she didn't know I was friends with the one doing the work. So hopefully I will have my truck back next week sometime.

for one it's about a 2 hour depending on what side it is. The passenger side is much easier than the drivers.

Re: How long did it take to get exhaust manifolds changed???

I had both sides of mine done in one day... and the tech had several bolts that broke and had to be repaired along the way...

Re: How long did it take to get exhaust manifolds changed???

Well it has now been 2 weeks and still not done yet. This is really starting to piss me off!!!! I think from now on I am going to drive the extra 74 miles and go to the one in Syracuse instead. This is nuts.
