Thought I would post this in the problems section as well for anyone that may come across the same issue later on...
Recently I began to notice some vibration in the front and rear while braking so I decided to take the truck into the dealer today. Net, the front and rear rotors were warped...at 4,000 miles, with 1k from a trip that we just made this past weekend with mostly highway driving and very little braking. They machined the fronts but I have to go back to do the rears. However, I'm not sure I'm happy with the fact that they were machined and not replaced. Clearly, there is a problem with the build quality of my particular set rotors if they warped in 3,000 miles.
Not a good day for me guys...

This also happen to me at about 23,000 miles . But my dealer took care of it with no problem . It hasent happen again ,but i guess it happens to all of them .
This just doesn't make sense!! If you turn the rotors, this is just a temporary fix. The problem WILL return. It does not fix the original problem, wouldn't the rotors or calipers be the culprit as being defective?
If this happens to me, I am going to be fuming mad. I sure hope it is a limited number of vehicles. I have finally learned my lesson, I doubt I will buy a first year vehicle again!
I purchased the Armada in November of 03 , I currently have 12K on the truck and have the warped rotor problem. I noticed alot of brake dust at first but that went away, shortly after came the rotor problem. My dealership has a set or rotors on order but i guess they are on National Backorder, I have been waiting for over 2weeks now. I think this is going to be a common problem for these trucks.

You have 23K miles on your Titan already? If rotors last 23K miles I guess I could live with that although it should go more. But from the other posts at 3K miles and even less is insane!
first thing to do is find out the torque spec for the lugnuts and re-torque the nuts on all wheels. A lot of bigger vehicles and very sensative to having the right torque or the rotors warp. I wouldn't put it past the mississippi folks to be a little sloppy on putting the wheels on. also, don't let them near your truck with an air wrench; probably the easiest way to get them too tight. juma
Funny to hear the name Datsun again... I was surprised during a recent trip to Japan by some late-model Frontier type trucks with Datsun written on their tailgates.
BTW, thanks for the link!
That would be cool if you could get emblems that say "datsun" instead of nissan for the front and back. but thatls just me i guess...my uncle has an OLD datsun. it's green and the hubcaps have a funky honeycomb or square pattern.
My LE Crew cab roters at 3500 miles started warping. I notice my steering vibrate when I applied the brakes, even at 20 mph. Took my titan to the dealer, they machined my rotters. I hope its fine. Will pick it up on 04/14. I will keep you guys posted. Oh, while the tech was removing the caliper, he broke one of the bolts, they now have to replace the calipers. One thing he mentioned is that the bolts were too tight. It may be the calipers not so much the rotters. Will keep posted.
I am starting to notice it on my CC as well now (almost 3000mi). I am not very surprised after all I have read here, and I will have no problem with it as long as the dealer replaces the rotors. Turning out warped rotors is a temporary fix at best. Turning is supposed to be used for mild surface imperfections and scratches.
I think this does have quite a bit to do with improper wheel torque, and you can bet that I will mention this to the service dept.
I will say that the two GM vehicles that I have owned have also had a bad problem with this, and I fixed it on one by getting aftermarket gas slotted rotors, and on the other I got aftermarket cryogenically <sp?> hardened rotors. Both solutions worked well, although I can't see Nissan putting gas slotted rotors on the Titan

Hey guys ! Picked up my TITAN today, I droped it off due to the warped rotors after 3,000. They turned them and they are working perfect. I think the calipers are not torque properly on these trucks, that could be the problem. So far so good. Will keep you guys posted. Oh, rear rotors, no problem.

So Americans when to Japan to teach them how to make cars... months later, the japanese people came to California with a car designed on their own, with no help, I mean developed in house, and the first sentence that came from the Americans was "THAT SOON" hence Datsun was the name of the company for many years.
We all know that Nissan was the real name.... anyway, Nissan or datsun I still love this truck...., oh yea where were we?.
I've been reading posts in TitanTalk for about a week now, but this is the my first post. I notice a slight rattle when braking in the last couple weeks. It got much worse this weekend when I took my new 7K pound Travel Trailer out for it's first camping trip. I now have an appointment next week to have it looked it. I'll post the results here.
