Hard to close tailgate?

Is it just mine, or does everyone's tailgate need to be slammed to latch properly. It seems like the rubber spacers are a little too thick and unless I really slam the tailgate closed it doesn't latch on both sides. Anybody else have this problem?

It is a little firm at first, but that is the same at my old Nissan pickup. 5 yrs later and it still closed nice and tight. 10 yrs later and is was like a 2 year old ford. Be glad that it is a little stiff now you will be happy not to hear it rattling next year!

Mine closes easy, all you have to do is operate the latch as you close it.

I took the truck to the dealer today and they fixed it. They said that one of the latches was adjusted improperly. It closes properly now.
