buzzing noise in engine compartment

im hearing a buzzing noise in my engine compartment(sounds like a fuel pump) seems to be coming from the driverside engine accesories area. near the a/c compressor just got back from a 900 mile trip and it started doing this. its got 63000 miles on it thanks in advance

i have the same noise...did the old screwdriver to the ear on all components and i cant find the source of the noise!! HELP!!!

hard to believe we are the only 3 titan owners who have experienced this noise. had a backyard mechanic check it out today he said he thinks it is coming from the transmission fluid pump

I've got the same problem, just started within the last 2 weeks. Annoying buzzing sound that a friend of mine said was the fuel pump. However I have no issues with acceleration or stalling. Currently running about 56k miles.

HELP PLEASE!!!

update: Took the truck in for an alignment today and had the techs figure out where the buzzing was coming from: it was the Alternator. I guess the bearings or windings were going bad? $500 to replace. Ouch.

so was mine, or so I thought, but it apparently was the alternator. It could make sense since the alternator sits so low on the engine block. A quick search on here of people with alternator issues revealed that at least one person reported a "supercharger-like" sound, which is exactly what my truck sounded like.

Update 2: Well I decided to get a second opinion as to the noise I heard, because I didn't think my alternator was going bad. It was still charging just fine and this noise never changed with engine RPM, which you think it would. So I took it to the local Nissan dealer and had them diagnose it.

The end result? A bad OIL FILTER. Yep, for a mere $35.00 plus tax for an oil change, the noise is completely eliminated, thus saving me $500 on a new alternator. The service guy didn't elaborate much but said that maybe the paper in the filter was loose and was flopping around? I don't know, but all I know is the noise is gone.

Crazy.
