At the risk of sounding TOO much like a woman here....how will I know if it does that? I just know mine sounds a hell of alot better in CD than radio...much louder.

Just listen to the radio for a period of time, you'll know. What happens is that you notice the sound quality on FM gets worse, it sounds like the reception has got week, but the STereo indicator stays on. Then after a while it comes back and sounds better again. This repeats at random intervals.

I didn't notice for a few weeks, mainly because I only ever listened to CDs... I got bored of them tried the radio and was a little dissapointed. I have to say that its the only dissapointing thing about this truck though..... other than that I love it ! :-)

When the dealers know about the fix I'll take mine in.

Ok Nursecrickett please never say " sound TOO much like a woman" Most of these guys sound the same HA HA guys. Most people do not REALLY listen to the stereo. I am a fanatic and this stereo is possessed. You may not really hear it if you are just a cruiser but if you love listening to the radio when you are in the truck you will hear the fading thing. Interesting to note everyone that the service manager that rode with me and heard it, for the first time, got in a brand new Titan to go fill it up with gas and guess what there it was. As he said he would not be sure he would not have noticed it if I had not pointed it out but as soon as it did it he could hear it. I hope the fix is soon as we have all waited to LONG to fix this exorcist radio!! Welcome Nursecrickett and remember women rule men droll. Love you guys!!

Thanks for the welcome!
I haven't heard that in my radio, and thats all I listen to. I do know the auto lowering and loudening got on my nerves and I shut that feature off. It didn't bother me until I had a friend with me and they said "oh, that would drive me nuts!"....guess what....after that it did! Darn her anyway!!!!

Truck is at the dealer getting some things done to it, but when I get it back I'll be listening for it.

I also asked the dealer about the radio glitch and they didn't know a thing about it. Is it only specific to a certain radio? Fosgate?

I hope you will all post when the fix is in so I can get it even if I don't need it!

Thanks again,
Crickett

I certainly didn't notice it during the test drive - but that was prior to someone pointing it out here in the forum...

And I also think that the SSV may be annoying - I like to control the volume myself, thank you very much

I just picked my Titan last week and noticed the reception on the FM band is miserable. Is this one of the symptoms? Continues to fade in and out, sounds good 1 minute, like crap the next. I basically do the same route every day and the reception stinks compared to my old Tundra's,my wife's Yukon and an aftermarket Alpine stereo. I called Rockford and they said call Nissan(1-800-Nissan1) and they said they had no clue. My dealer says they have not heard of anything but then again they have not messed with too many Titans yet.

Welcome to the club. You have all the symptoms. Call 1-800-Nissan1 and add your name to the growing list. They will deny all knowledge and of having ever heard about it, but supposedly they are working on it.

Haven't heard back from dealer yet....I saw my last post on this issue was 3/26 what's up with the phone call?

The stereo sounds great all of a few seconds.. I wonder if it has something to do with something getting too warm and when it cools the stereo comes back heats and leaves again. No stereo tech here but my ears are fine tuned to stereo and definitely knows the difference from AM Mono. Let's go Nissan and find the problem CD's are nice but I like hearing the latest songs etc.

The story remains the same, "we have not heard about that". I called Nissan and asked whether they were aware of the issue, as well as the Service Manager at the dealership. The Service Manager noted my file # from Nissan Corp. He made it very clear that Nissan Central keeps a tight lip on any problems or issues potentially affecting an entire product line. He was going to call his contacts, but clearly stated that unless something is close to being released, he will get the same "I don't know???"

Well, I picked up my Titan last night. It now has about 70 miles on it. Unfortunately, my wife and I noticed a fluctuation in reception/ volume/clarity this morning.

edit: LOL I hadn't turned off the SSV, so i'll do that just to check. However, I did notice the fluctuation while cruising at a steady speed.

SSV control

Hey guys!

I've been reading this post about the radio problem. The volume drops when coming to a stop or does the mono sound when in a turn. I took my Titan in for the 1st oil changed and mention this problem to them, as well as, mention this site about people having problems. She later came back and told me the Armanda has SSV(speed sensitive control volume) and that I could adjust it and to look in the manual about adjusting it. Well doggie, she was right. Press the audio knob until you come to SSV. Then turn the knob right or left for off, low,mid or high. I haven't adjusted that yet but will report back to see if that makes any difference in the sound. I just thought I would let all know about this in case anyone didn't. BTW, love the truck. It's the funnest truck to drive.

Clash...

No this is not the same isssue. This occurs with the SSV OFF. The SSV on the truck operates as intended. No problems there. Its the actual reception and fading with the SSV off is what the problem is.

I would wait as the new radio will probably be just the same. I do not want my dash torn up but once. I am wiling to wait for the "real fix". My dealer said they still do not have a bulletin on the fix but are still working on it. It can't be that hard???? They are probably trying to figure out just what this cost is going to cost them as it won't be cheap but neither was my truck. I still think it is the best one on the road and the more I drive it the better I like it. Let's hope the radio issue is solved soon. Got Titan if you get it changed out let us know the outcome. Thanks
