I have an 04 4x4 and am looking at putting on 33's. I have heard that a a level kit will help me get these on, but is this the same thing as a body lift? I would not mind having a better suspension in the front, so is there a 3" suspension lift I could do or if I just put on aftermarket coilovers can I get 3" of lift without sacraficing ride quality? Also thinking of putting on aftermarket diff cover. Has anyone put a stillen cover on a 4x4 or any others for that matter.
cool, PRG looks like they offer nice products. What is the difference between lifting with a coilover and an a arm and lifting with an actual kit such as pro-comp? That setup seems nice, but real expensive for a 4" lift. Does anyone have pics of a coilover prg setup? thanks

You're not paying for the lift, that's the cost of SAW coilovers. Any offroad racing style coilover assembly is gonna cost $700 or more. Even if you get a bracket lift, you'll eventually need new coilovers and they'll run $800 or more for the bracket lift application.
i have an 06 4x4.... i only have a level.. and i have 33" nitto terra grapplers.. and they are too small IMO.... i wish i had gone a size up.. so if you do a 3" lift.. or even a mini lift.. i think 33" will be too small.. again.. IMO.. lol
Yeah bigger is always better right? However, when you go higher you get worse gas, more expensive tires, and worse handling. For my job I drive a lifted Tahoe, but dont know the details on the lift. I think its about a 3" front. I like the setup because it handles great and looks sick. I kind of want the same setup for mine. What do you all think? How much lift and look will those extended saw's give me with the prg a arm? will I need to do anything to the back?
right now.. like i said i have 06 4x4 with 33"s and from barstow cali.. to las vegas... on the freeway doing about 90... i got 11mpg!!... its prettyy lame... soo... i know what you mean about gas mileage!!

No, not necessarily. Folks will debate the wind resistance gets worse MPG all day long but from what I'm seeing, the amount of torque our trucks have yield that out. There's so little change in my MPG from the lift that I couldn't tell. My poor MPG's mostly came from heavier tires and nothing else.
The handling is not worse. Mine handles mostly the same as it did before except I just need to slow down a bit more around corners is all. I still dodge crap laying in the road just like before, I just swing back into line a tad slower is all. Due to the SAW, my ride is as smooth as when new on the stock tires, which is a big deal considering the stiffness of my LT tires.
I stopped by the dealership I bought my Armada from and let the Sales manager who sold it to me take it for a drive. He said he's amazed at how it handles as if it wasn't lifted at all.
Another thing to consider is if your rolling diameter is affecting your readings on the speedo and odometer. That will play havoc with mpg calculation. My rolling diameter is currently slightly smaller than stock and my speedo read about 3-5mph slower when I compered 2 different GPS units to the speedo reading. In theory, larger tires would also gain mpg on the highway as they are raising (numerically lowering) you rear diff gearing. Once up and rolling you should be running at lower rpm than a smaller tire.

Not with 33's, it shouldn't. My speed and miles driven always matches exactly with my Garmin GPS data and the highway mile markers. I suspect these trucks might've been designed for 33's before production tires were decided on.
