adjusting Radflos?

I just got the 2.5 Radflo coil overs put on. Friggin Awesome!

It appears there are two adjustment rings that the springs sits on. A thicker black one (against the base of the spring) and a smaller width black one (against the larger one). Does the smaller one serve as a lock for the larger one? Do I need to adjust one before the other? I used a bit of WD-40 and still no movement. How much force is necessary?

Thanks in advance.
Time to go get dirty!!

Re: adjusting Radflos?

Sounds right, are you lifting the front of the truck off the ground? That will make it much easier.

Re: adjusting Radflos?

Yeah lifted the truck up. Maybe just need more force, but I was afraid to use too much in case the rings interlocked and there was a proper order of wrenching with the spanner wrench. Seems like there must be a reason for the two separate rings... or it is simply to give more possible grip points for the wrench if you don't have much room to work with.

Re: adjusting Radflos?

The one is a locknut. You have to back it off some first before adjusting the actual adjustment nut.

The smaller one? AAAHHHHAAAAHHHH!
So loosen the smaller, adjust the bigger, tighten the smaller?

I knew there had to be a SOP.

P.S. I love that skid plate did you fab it? I need something like that instead of the dinky OEM unit.

Re: adjusting Radflos?

It takes a LOT of force. I learned the hard way to stick some of those hard rubber kitchen drawer pads on my spanner wrench to keep from scratching the paint. I touched up the initial scratches with a Sharpie marker per Greg's suggestion.
