DayStar Installed Price

I called 2 places in Atlanta, GA on a quest for a DayStar 2.5 lift. Does this sound right?

DayStar Kit $114
Installation $200
Re-Alignment $130

This sounds steep. Is the kit self installable?

If you have a spring compressor, then it should be fairly easy with a few extra common tools. The kit price sounds reasonable, I couldn't comment on the installation. But the alignment charge sounds awfully steep. The most I've ever paid for a alignment was $60.

If I bought the kit I would definately install myself. I'm in the Army, and we have auto hobby facilities. Which are basically a row of mechanic bays with lifts that soldiers can rent for around $10 a day. You can use their air tools and welders and some even have paint booths. Do that and I get a $10 install, and take it off post to get an alignment.

will this type of spring compressor work, http://www.handsontools.com/store/sh...oduct_id=23886

if so that's not a bad price, how hard is it to use?

Actually that is the type for placing inside the coil I believe. You need the type made to work with struts, as you can't place the compressor inside the spring because it has a shock running down the middle. $60 is kinda steep. You should be able to find one or a set of two preferably for around $30. I haven't measured the Titan's coils to see their outside diameter. You simply place it around the coil and tighten it down compressing the spring enough to remove it from the buckets. But before you remove it you have to remove the shock.

I've really only messed around with this type: http://www.mytoolstore.com/toolaid/suspn01.html

I got the kit for $110 from 4wheelparts (willcall)

The tire shop charged me $50 per side and told me the alignment was fine, that it didn't change anything.

Not believing, I went to another tire shop and they offered the alignment for $89. I will take it next week.

The truck rides great - much better with the 2.5" Daystar kit. No bottoming, better cornering. The view from the ****pit is different, too. There are no symptoms to suggest the alignment is off, but I will have it checked anyway.

I have a brand new set that I'm selling. Well practically new. I bought them and used once to install lift on my titan. Let me know if you want them.
