CST Performance 8" Lift

Was wondering how the ride is after installing the lift? My big concern is how the stock brakes are going to respond with the lift. Anyone tha has the lift installed, I love to hear how youe truck is handling.

I only test drove one, but it drove like stock. I never had to make a sudden stop, but otherwise, the brakes were fine. The 35" tires are only 2" bigger than the BFGs on the offroad package, so the difference in tire size and weight isn't all that much. I think you get 30 or 31" tires on a normal Titan, so even then, the diff ain't that much.

You get 33" tires (actually 32.6) with the 18" wheels.

Yes, the standard tire that come with the 18" wheels is a P265/70R18 Wrangler SR-A with an outside diameter of 32.6". The OR package comes with BFG P285/70R17 Rugged Trail with an outside diameter of 33.0". So you have a OD difference of .4".

Now the XE comes with P245/75R17. I don't know the brand of tire so I can't give you an exact OD, but the conversion comes out to 31.5"

Yeah, I thought it was 33" tires w/the OR package. The weight difference in 35" and 33" tires isn't all that much. Ask gero, dtek or maxpowers about their lifts, they all have a 4x2 Titan CST lift w/35" tires. Like I said, I only test-drove a lifted Titan, but it felt almost exactly like stock. I think dtek said the same thing in 1 of his posts.

The ride is just fine in my truck. My brakes had sucked to begin with and respond the same as they did before. I even had the dealer check out my brakes and they said they were fine.

the ride is great in mine

i test drove a few titans ... five or six, including a lifted one.

i've driven mine for 3000 miles and it's great... brakes are fine, the ride is comfortable.... i do get some bouncing on certain highways at 70mph (but I had that before the lift too... its just on certain so cal highways; and i think that it's due to the stiffness of the frame ... 350z's get it also)

anyway, i'm very happy with the lift and my titan

It has a sub frame to drop the lower A-arms. The spindle is replaced with a taller one to allow the use of the factory upper A-arm mounts. The springs and shocks are oem, just uses a lifted bucket of sorts. The rear is blocks.

Here is the link to CST 8" lift: http://www.californiasupertrucks.com...&productID=108
Right now there is only 4x2 lift kits available, but the 4x4 should be available soon. They emailed me about 2 weeks ago saying that the 4x4 lift kit would be available in a few weeks, which puts it right about now next week, but I'm guessin probably not for another 2 weeks to a month.

Not that I'm TrojanDan or have the CST lift, but no one here that has the lift has mentioned re-gearing. The final gear ratio of the Titan is similar to a 4 speed auto with a 3.73 or 4.10 with BT. That should be fine with 35" tires, less than a 2" increase in overall turning diameter.

I'm with Sammy on this one. Hell, when am I ever not w/Sammy? I would suggest that you get the OR or BT package just so that you have the final gear ratio of 4.10, but I think I saw that you've already ordered your Titan. If you don't have either package, I wouldn't worry. The other guys on the board don't have a problem w/3.73 gears (final ratio). It's not a big difference over the tires that come w/the OR package either way. Congrats on your Titan, can't wait to see some picks when you get it, and when/if you lift it! BTW - where are you in socal?

Thanks sammy_sandbag & TrojanDan. I was hoping I wouldn't have to mess with any gears. I do plan on lifting my Titan later down the line...I think I'll wait until more manufacturers offer a 6"-8" lift.
Thanks for the heads up TrojanDan, I did order my truck with BT but no OR. I figured since I'm gonna lift it later on down the line there was no need to purchase the OR.
I live in Carson...near Long Beach. Are you in So Cal 2?
