Ok, so dayfart 2.5 kit causes breakage... Now what...

Hello, new here. I love my new truck. I cannot stand the "raked" look.

I searched all the threads. Thank you 1badtitan for saving me a headache. I was about to pick up this kit until I read your experience. I don't know why I thought that 2.5 inches of pre-load on these struts wouldn't have a negative impact.

Yeah, I don't know what gives with all the major truck makers these days. I wish that I could talk to their engineers. WE DON'T WANT THE TRUCK TO SIT 2.5 INCHES LOWER IN THE FRONT - MORONS! Nissan gave me everything I was looking for - except for this. If you engineers need to compensate for towing... INSTALL A 300.00 PNEUMATIC LEVELER AS AN OPTION... (Rant mode off)

Well, what are my other options. I wan't a level truck, but I don't want to destroy the suspension, CV joints, or my warranty. Frustrating... Does anyone out there make a good, solid, permanent solution. I guess 100.00 bucks from Daystar, you get what you pay for.

Amen bro. I also want to level out the front of my 4x4. I don't want a huge lift or bigger tires that kills the mileage. I just want it level. I almost bought a datstar off of ebay. Thankfully I found this forum before I did. Why can't somone just make a front body lift or something? Our trucks are new to the world. I think with time and patience somebody will eventually make something that will work for us...

I understand for your use the problems that the rake causes however for
people like me who haul weight and tow the truck levels right out in these
situations. Air bags and air lines tend to fail after extended gravel road use
and they limit rear wheel articulation sometimes. So I don't think they are
morons they just built a truck to be safe and level with a load. It is a truck
you know people use them for doing work and a level ride when loaded is
important. Just thought you should hear from the other side. It was easier
on the previous Nissan truck as all you had to do it crank the bars in the
front up a little. Give it time and someone will come up with an answer
for you. It takes a little while for the aftermarket to get things out and as
you have seen you don't want the first stuff that is out. Sometimes I think
they should offer two types of suspensions. One for the street level and
with a lower weight rating and a heavier duty one for people like me that
way we can both be happy. I don't want airbags and hoses. Already done
that multiple times and while it is a good solution for some people I have had
nothing but trouble.

Just wait for Rancho's adjustable coil overs. They should allow adjustment up to 3" in the front. This however will increase your CV angles for you 4wd owners. Rancho said they should be available later this year.

I think we have to be patience to have a great leveling kit since Titan has not been long enough.
Last time i talked to rancho they will release adjustable coil overs.
So just wait.

I figure, once the new Rancho adustable coils come out I will pick them up. Obviously, I will have to take out the struts on it now to put the new Rancho's in. What am I going to do with them? Hang them in the garage as an ornament? So what difference does it make if I destroy them with a daystar kit? If I can get 6 months out of them until a real set of struts come out, all the better. If I ruin them before they come out, well, I will deal with some noise.

I will at least pick up the new and improved Daystar kit. You know, the one where the morons said it is fixed because they changed the proportion of the two spacers, but kept the same 2.5 inches of lift. Man it is tough being insane. Some people take it for granted.

While the jacked up look is not pretty, I agree with Zardoz that the truck performs great when you dump a load in the bed (1,800 lb pallet over the rear axel). She was level and road great.
Hopefully something will pop up soon to help.

That's your call man, if you can't wait and want to drop $100 + install then probably $1000 on the coil overs, then more power to you. I would like to see the truck leveled out as well, but I'm waiting to see the 4-6" lifts that are coming out later this year.

Same exact thing as the DayStar, CST, and Rough Country coil spacers. They are all going to run the risk of topping out your front struts. The only difference is the Rough Country is .5" shorter. The rubber compounds might vary, but that will only effect the "ride" and I doubt the differences are measurable. I'd say if you are destined to buy one, go with the least expensive.

BTW, talked with Rough Country today. The RC 2inch and the Daystar 2.5 inch are the exact same kit. RC only called it a 2inch because the net lift was more like 2.25 instead of 2.5. They get the spacers direct from Daystar. Just thought you guys guys might find this interesting. RC also indicated they had no knowledge of different versions of the kit. They are all the same Daystar spacers, no different compounds, no different proportions, etc... Just Daystar.

BTW, just looked at the Skyjacker kit in that link. Daystar. I bet you a million bucks you call them up and ask them where they get their spacers. According to the guys at RC, Daystar is one of the only two companies in the US that makes poly-anything for automotive. What good will the "Skyjacker" shocks do you in the rear? Bahaa, the rear is not sagging!!!

Why doesn't somebody (such as Rancho or Skyjacker) just make a 2.5" longer version of the front shock, and sell a complete spacer kit which includes the longer shocks? It'd still be less than $300 as a leveling kit. Why is it rocket science to make a slightly longer shock?

Then you could throw in 2.5" blocks in the rear if you like the rear higher look (which I do). You could then go 2.5" all the way around including shocks for about $500. I don't want an 8" lift (or the associated cost), but would like to have it a little higher.

EDIT: I just checked the Skyjacker site. They do offer the Hydro, Platnum and Nitro versions of the front shock for a 2.5" lift. So why not just pick them up with the spacer kit?

I talked to Skyjacker and they said that was a misprint. Those are rear shocks, not front struts.
