Daystar 2.5" kit

I called Daystar yesterday and asked them about their leveling kit. They agreed that they had had a problem with the kit. They assured me that the kit had been changed and that the new kit had solved the porblem of ruining the front shocks.

Has anyone heard of this? He told me it was changed very recently.

Umm I did a search and I couldn't find anything about how the kit was changed in the last few weeks to cure the strut problem of the past.

I have read alot about the Daystar system, but I don't think the change has been discussed. Reading posts of people that have the kit, they all seemed to be pretty happy with it. Have they not had the strut problem yet? I don't think many, if any, have put the kit on in the last couple of weeks.

I talked to Daystar again and the new kit is available now. They said that the new kit solves the strut problem. They told me the kit was just redesigned and will be out in the next few days.....

How exactly is it redesigned to prevent the strut from topping out? Excuse me for disbeliving, but that seems physically impossible. If it still is a 2.5" lift, it will still cause the same amount of travel. There is no way to prevent the shock problem without either lengthening the shock, limiting travel, or moving it's mounting point.

I dont work for Daystar. Why would I call them if I worked for them? Forget it. I was just trying to help.

I argued at length with them about it. It still lifts the truck so the strut is still stretched right? Well anyway. I guess Ill just sit back and read all the posts rather than contribute.

Geez touchy are we? He was just kidding. Can't stand the heat get your butt out the kitchen and what not. Either way, I'd like to know how they "redesigned" it? There isn't much you can do with something as simple as a coil spacer, especially if you intend to keep the same dimensions. Even if they changed the rubber compound, it wouldn't fix the shock topping out problem.

Don't let it get you bro, it's happened a couple of times before (person working for a company) and so he's just a little suspicious. Maybe it's not called for, but don't let it stop you from sharing some info!!!

Sammy, why don't you call up Daystar and ask? Obviously, you know quite a bit of technical info, so you would be able to follow along w/a technical discussion from a rep, if they are so able to discuss it!

I'm not personally interested in the kit for my truck, but I would like to know what they mean by improved or redesigned, just for my own curiousity. And I've talked to DayStar before, and their phone monkeys won't be able to tell me that.

I just sent an email asking about this to Day Star's sales and tech departments. Hopefully we'll get a legit technical answer and not a canned response.
