Daystar alternative 2" spacer??

Would a 2" spacer bolted to the top of the strut work.

It would make the overall length of the unloaded stut assembly 2" longer, but installed would it be the same height of a daystar installed kit?
If the length of the strut determines the height of the vehicle, then would the daystar installed strut be 2" longer when installed?

Tell me why a 2" spacer bolted to the top of the strut would or would not work.

The spacer is a little better but not much. The problem is limited downward travel of the suspension. The problem with the Daystar kit is that the shocks top out. Yes, the spacer will keep the shock from topping out but you only have about another 1/2 inch of suspension travel after the shock tops out before the suspension itself tops out. And in order to keep the suspension from topping out which means metal on metal, you will need a bump stop. That pretty much will eat up the 1/2 inch you gain if not more. So in other words, you will still be in the same boat.

Can't you just get a bigger bump stop, i've seen lift kits come with new bump stops.

It doesn't have a bump stop to limit downward travel, just upward. You can put a bumpstop in to limit downward travel but then you loose what little downward travel you have which isn't much with the spacers installed.
