well i have had the 2.5 kit from daystar since january, i just got back from big bear and did some back trails. the daystar is still good, shocks are still good, ride is good, and NO PROBLEMS.....
titan crewcab 4x2 xe
stock shocks
17x8 centerline wheels on bfg 265x70x17
pace edwards jack rabbit tonneau cover w/ explorer rails
Nevermind, should have read your description. I haven't put mine in 4wheel yet, but I am curious if anyone has 4 wheel drive and any problems. I doubt it, the angle change is slight, but just wanted to get feedback. Anyone?
The backend on mine ended up still being about a 1/2 inch taller, which worked out perfect for the boat that I tow. It has a tongue weight of about 250 lbs. and it rides perfectly level when it is hooked up.
i have 4x4..took it out trail riding this weekend at duck creek and the suspension squeaks like crazy and something rattling really bad underneath sounds like a loose skid plate or heat shield or something...it's really annoying anyone else having this problem...and the B-LSD works like a charm but doesn't seem to work on the front axle ...is this normal ?
love the truck!!! you guys love the daystar? i have the daystar kit sitting in my closet as i have been reluctant to install the kit. its been awhile since i've been on titantalk and have been somewhat out of the loop on all the lift issues. i was thinking of going with the cst lift kit and the problems with the daystar lift made me holdoff. but ultimately the daystar, looking at your trucks (bosshogg/vinoche/michiganmade) it looks as though the daystar is really all i need.
So the ultimate question is this:
should i just say screw it and save a few thousand dollhairs and just put my daystar lift in? is there really no problems with the lift?
Yeah, love the Daystar so far. No problems, but again, I have not had it out on the trail. A big deal for me; a truck is not a truck without the 4wheel working smoovely.
I am also with the other guy. If I had a choice between spacers and adjustable shocks with more travel; well, the choice is clear. However, in my case, I could not stand to look at the truck one more day with it's rear sticking up in the air.
I appreciate the compliments on the truck; despite the fact that I maintain it is ugly -- just as a truck should be.
I have the 2.5" Daystar on my KC 4x2. I went to Mono Hot springs and did some off roading. Very rough road with mostly rocks and gravel. I had no problems at all and did not hear any unusual noises. I am happy with the lift kit so far.
Has anyone with the Daystar installed had the dealership tell them that their warranty is no longer valid? I was wondering because I have yet to install my Daystar because I need to get some work done by the Dealer.
Just had the Daystar kit installed yesterday on my CC 4x4 with off-road. The ride is just as smooth as without it. I too was concerned about the warranty but after asking my dealer about this directly they said it wouldn't be a problem and would in no way void the entire warranty. Suspension issues would be addressed on a case by case basis based on how extensive the mods were. The Daystar kit is a minimal mod.
I've got the daystar kit and there is a distinct topping out of the suspension when coming down the back side of speedbumps or any large drops in the road surface. There is hardly any downward travel left on the supension. Its not noticeable if you live in an area with real good roads, definitely noticeable on bad roads and trails.

Any noise yet? or just topping out?

When it 'tops' out, the suspension has reached its limit of downward travel. When that happens, the full weight of the suspension, tires and wheels slams down against the frame. Its jars the whole truck. Sounds like someone hitting the dash with a sledgehammer. Not ideal.
It is my only option for now but is not a long term thing for me. Its something most could live with, especially those in the city that don't go offroad. But I don't want to deal with it any longer than I have to.
